My fridge is set to 4 degrees, and the freezer is set to -14 degrees. This is to reduce power consumption, more than for any other reason. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 225Jan 23, 2011 2:48 pm Hey everyone I bought this fridge the other day and love it so far. This morning I noticed that it is very warm underneath it. I poked my foot under the fridge and the timber floor boards that it sits on are all warm from the fridge. Is this normal?? Warm under neath. THink that's just the motor, must take a fair bit of power I think I may also mention while I am here that we have had some rust forming on the drip tray in the water dispenser, also a slight bit on the edges that are flush with the door. Samsung replaced the whole door fronts and the tray under warranty. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 227Jan 23, 2011 9:05 pm karakarakara Hey everyone I bought this fridge the other day and love it so far. This morning I noticed that it is very warm underneath it. I poked my foot under the fridge and the timber floor boards that it sits on are all warm from the fridge. Is this normal?? Hi all. I need to respond to the above. A few months ago I also noticed the warm temperature at the bottom of my fridge. Didn't think much of it. As I also have wood floors which this fridge sits on top of, I started noticing that the gap in between my wooden boards, directly underneath and a little in front, were getting larger. The gap isnt massive, but definitely larger than anywhere else (I have a few spots with gaps due to expansion/contraction of the wood). Curiosity got the better of me so I pulled the fridge out from the fridge recess and sad to say, pretty much all the boards directly underneath the fridge have become 'cupped'. Really wasn't too happy about that, but as it is only the wood underneath the fridge, I have sorta gotten over it and have convinced myself that it is an area no one will ever see anyway. The little bit just directly in front is warm but hasn't 'cupped' yet. It seems like it is trying to though but I think because there is more air circulation here, it is keeping the 'cupping' monster at bay. Let's hope it stays this way! So yeah, if you've got wood floors, then you may get some warping/cupping undearneath the fridge due to this 'heat'. Other than this, I like my fridge. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 228Jan 23, 2011 9:53 pm Thanks so much for your replies. We are getting a stainless steel tray made for the fridge to sit in (to protect from any water if it ever leaks) hopefully it will protect it from the heat as well! This morning, i opened up the fridge door and heard a 'spluttering' sound and it was followed by a rattling sound. The rattling sound was quite loud and it wouldn't stop. When i asked DH about it, he said that he has heard this noise before but it only lasted a second or two. I tried to see where it is coming from and it looks like it is coming from the freezer side. We had to leave home to go to work but i am worried that i will go back home and find the fridge is no longer working.. Has anyone experienced this? I hope it is not serious, i really love my fridge Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 230Jul 07, 2011 8:36 am By the way, our filter is due for replacement. Could this be the issue? I am looking for replacement filters on the http://www.clarencewaterfilters.com.au/ ... e-Filters/ website, which replacement filter did you get for the SRS684GDHSS? No, the water supply is connected and it has been making ice. Didn't check today but i know it was yesterday... I hope it is not serious... [i]We built in Point Cook and are loving our new house. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 233Jul 07, 2011 11:01 pm dreamhome I hope it is not serious, i really love my fridge Hi dreamhome. If you go back to one page to page 11 of this thread you will see that I asked the exact same question you did, but back in Dec. I and another forum member have the heard the same 'spluttering' noises on occasion (and mine still does it) and it would seem so far that this is just 'normal'. My fridge is still running fine at this point in time, but if you think something funny is going on then maybe just give Samsung service a call and see what they have to say. Hope that helps. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 234Jul 08, 2011 8:39 am They have been really good with their Warranty service calls for us so far. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 235Jul 08, 2011 9:50 am My fridge was one of those making that funny noise (spluttering, cracking type noise). It still makes it, but fridge works fine. We too, were very happy with the warranty, call out service. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 236Jul 08, 2011 3:00 pm Thank you everyone, I did read about the spluttering noise in one of the previous posts but I didn't see any posts on any rattling noise? When I returned home last evening the noise had stopped so I am not sure how long it lasted. I don't know if I should still call samsung or just wait and see if it happens again... By the way, does anyone know if the warranty starts from the date the fridge is delivered or from the date we made a payment to reserve the fridge. We paid for the fridge in dec but didn't get delivered until our house was ready in June, does that mean warranty period starts from June? [i]We built in Point Cook and are loving our new house. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 237Jul 08, 2011 3:02 pm I don't know for sure but I thought it was the date of the payment? If you call the store that you bought it from they will confirm that for you. Glad the noise has stopped, hope it never comes back again. It may be worth a call to Samsung as it may be a common problem that they know about? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 238Jul 09, 2011 5:39 pm What's the going price for these fridges at the moment? Anyone purchased one recently? This is the fridge we are considering or the Samsung with no milk/drink easy access door on the right hand side door.
