My fridge has an indicator that lets me know when it needs changing. Just a quick question, do you really need to filter the water? Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 204Jul 02, 2010 10:42 pm I've put down a deposit (to be delivered when we move in) with appliances online and was able to get them to price match down to $2400 (delivery inc). This may be due to I'm buy heap of stuff from them (washing machine, mwave, cooktop) Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 205Jul 05, 2010 9:57 am haywgl I have brought a replacement filter. Samsung recommends that the filter be replaced every 6 months. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 206Nov 11, 2010 12:23 pm Our Samsung Fridge/Freezer just died (SRS702GDHSS) ... only had just under 6 months. The power is still there (light and display still working), but the freezer and fridge lost all it's cooling and I have just had to throw out a pile of food that has spoiled. Someone is hopefully coming today to look at it, fingers crossed they do as we are a large family and really need a fridge. WAS loving this fridge too ... Also, is the water dispenser slow to fill up glasses for other users? Ours is really slow, but have nothing to compare it too as it's the first time we have ever had a fridge with a water dispenser. I mentioned it to samsung and they said when the repair guy comes out mention it to them too. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 207Nov 11, 2010 11:40 pm Mine was slow but only with the filter in. It could also be to do with the limited water pressure in newer homes as my new house has awesome water pressure and the water flies out. Let us know how you go with the fridge .. Fingers crossed it is fixed quickly for you! Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 208Dec 09, 2010 2:16 pm Hi All! We have had this fridge for about 5months now and on a rare occasion (maybe once or twice in a fortnight), I can hear this weird 'spluttering' type noise coming from the freezer side of the fridge. It's as if cooled air is trying to come out of the vent near the bottom half at the back of the freezer, but is getting blocked or having trouble 'squeezing' out. I am finding this very strange and am concerned that it may cause issues later. However, I am reluctant to call for service as it does not happen all the time and I don't want to pay for a call out which results in nothing being done. Other than this, the fridge is all working as expected. Has anyone else experienced this weird gas/air spluttering noise? Cheers. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 209Dec 09, 2010 2:29 pm Hi, yes I have that "spluttering" noise too. I told the service guy when he was out, but says it's probably the compressor. The warranty service guy was excellent by the way. They repaced the filter and when he put a new one it it ran brilliantly. Says we must have got a dud filter with the fridge. He couldn't work out though what had caused our fridge to suddenly stop cooling. He did the power off, power on again and it started working (we had tried that when it first happened, and didn't work for us). So he has left it aone and if it should happen again they will replace the power board. So far, so good. Back to loving my fridge again. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 210Dec 09, 2010 2:48 pm Hmm...ok. I don't think this 'spluttering' noise is a good thing. It definitely sounds like gas/air is being impeded from its normal path. I will keep an eye on it and report here if my fridge decides to do anything negative. (Sometimes it sounds like the gas/air builds up and then you hear this 'pop!' as if it built up enough pressure behind the 'blockage' and then pushed it's way out.... ....sheesh) Thanks jaelee for posting. Hopefully, not too many other people have this 'noise gremlin' in their fridge. Cheers. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 211Dec 14, 2010 6:50 pm RedIsotope Hmm...ok. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 212Dec 14, 2010 7:01 pm You too? That makes three of us then. 2 of us are from WA......are you from WA too? *The plot thickens* Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 213Dec 14, 2010 7:14 pm Yep, im in WA. I'll do the same. Cheers. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 215Dec 14, 2010 7:27 pm Will do. I did find the following on the Samsung website in the FAQs section refrigerator : Is it normal for my fridge to make noise. There will be a water dripping or gargling type noise for the first few weeks, after this the noise will continue to occur occasionally. All refrigerators have this noise. The noise comes from oil and gasses mixing in the cooling system. refrigerator : Is The Bubbling Sound I Hear Coming From My Refrigerator Normal? Yes. The bubbling sound you hear is normal. It is caused by refrigerant gas moving through the pipes in your refrigerator as the refrigerator cools or freezes your food. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 216Dec 14, 2010 7:34 pm LOL. Gargling and bubbling....sounds like there is a baby playing in my fridge. Ok thanks for that gobrien182. Hopefully it's all good! Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 218Jan 14, 2011 1:17 pm Hi There Well we've got the fridge in and it's working like a dream - love it. We did have an issue with the fridge and condesation on our bottles in the bottle holder, but we turned the fridge temp down to 2 degrees and it has seemed to relieve the problem. Might have been those extra hot days we had in Perth over Christmas/New Year. Plus the fridge was fairly full. Freezer is set to -20. Just wondered what other's have their temps set to. Also the wilter filter light is on, even though we've obviously installed a new filter. Any tips for clearing this - the booklet is a bit vague and I hate reading manuals!!! We've held the 'reset water filter' button down for 3 seconds, but to no avail. Would be intereted in seeing what other have it set at. Resetting the filter involves holding down a button for a few seconds (I think it actually says this on the button). I did it about a month ago. Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 220Jan 14, 2011 7:44 pm I think ours is also 2 or 3 and -18. We did have the freezer section on -20 but found that icecream started to develop those yucky ice bits inside. We've just changed our filter and only had to hold that 'reset filter' button (where all the buttons are), for 3 seconds and the icon went blue again. i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 12868 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 40135 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review.
