Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 05, 2009 10:25 pm Hi everyone, i am new to the forum.. i am needing some help! We have been doing research to prepare for a kitchen renovation.. and decided to get a local builder to do the honours. We have decided on 2 pac painted dors with integrated handles, and Laminex Diamond gloss benchtops. At first, i wanted 80mm benchtops, then was told that it was not possible through the builder.. as he gets the benchtops made by someone 3 hours away, and they are too hard to transport, etc etc.... now i have decided i still want what originally decided, 38mm D edge benchtops.. but i am sill very keen on the waterfall edge.. i am wondering why it has been advised against? anyone know? it would be made in 2 pieces so i cant see the prob with transport... can anyone picture what i am asking for??? my builder cant seem to!! any thoughts are very much welcomed! Re: Waterfal Edge with diamond gloss benchtop? 2Jul 06, 2009 10:52 am If you go to the laminex website it has specific PDF downloads regarding the diamond gloss bench tops and a special waterfall edge product (for use with diamond gloss) I think it looks hot! Renovating a post-war house in Brisbane | On the first rung of the property ladder Re: Waterfal Edge with diamond gloss benchtop? 4Jul 06, 2009 8:32 pm Hi, i just wanted to share what i discussed with Laminex, and with my builder. Apprently, the look of the seamless benchtop on the cover of the Diamond Gloss Edging brochure, is do-able, but it is not covered under laminex warranty!! they advertise pics of these looks to appeal to people (like me ) but it is rarely done. Apparently its not easy done, and the fact that it is not covered under warranty is ridiculous. So, i am getting a Diamond Gloss benchtop, with 7.5mm radius, and my builder is going to fix another 90deg piece of benchtop to make it look like a waterfall edge, it will have a join.. but thats ok by me. hopefully i wont regret it!
