We are at the point of selecting our kitchen cabinet handles and I am confused by the different metals that are available. I've seen Stainless Steel, Nickle and Zinc Alloy. There are probably others! Can anyone tell me what the best product to use is and their different pros and cons? Thanks in advance Pearl Re: Kitchen Cabinet Handles 2May 11, 2007 9:27 am Pearl,
I prefer Stainless Steel. One important thing to note is whether the material being stated is a plating or the whole item. For instance, chrome handles are actually brass with crome plating. Check to see which handles are the same material throughout (stainless steel invariably is) or just a plating. I'd always go forthe handle that looks the best and is not plated. Perhaps the kitchen suppliers on this forum can confirm which handle types are plated and if there is any benefit/disadvantage to plated handles. And I always use rectangular modern handles at least 20-25cm long. They look very good. Check EBay – there are hips and prices are very good. Yes you could trim those with an oscillating saw to stop the toe stubbing, but it will be incredibly ugly as you will see the unpainted timber. Also have you thought… 2 11975 ![]() Hello!
