Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 18, 2009 10:55 am Just wanted to asked if anyone has found with their new laminate kitchen that there is some small chips in the laminate after it has been installed?? Our kitchen was installed yesterday and I was going around every corner of very door and shelve and I found 3 sections where the laminate has chipped away slightly...is this expected ie with having to install the doors and shelves?? It is mostly around the edges where they have the laminate strip. Has anyone else found this has happened? Is it normal or should I say something?? I believe that if I haven't touched it yet it should be in prime condition!!! What could be the reason it has chipped in areas?? I thought laminate was very hardy? Is it something that now it is chipped it will keep on chipping?? What are peoples thoughts?? Re: found small chips in brand new laminate kitchen???? 3Jun 18, 2009 12:34 pm Yes I have expressed my concerns and he is coming out today to inspect the areas I have problems with. Why is it chipped? I thought that laminate was tough, or at least lasted 10 or more years, they must of been pretty heavy handed to cause damage or is laminate easy to chip?
