My kitchen is causing me angst! We've decided to bite the bullet and go with the ceasarstone benchtops, but that and the upgraded cooktop have pretty much blown my kitchen 'extras' budget, so when we got the quote for over $1k for the glass splashback behid the bench, that pretty much ruled that out! However that was to do the entire length of the benchtop my stove is on, with powerpoint cutouts. I'm now thinking that maybe just a glass splashback of a metre or so, just behind the stove itself (its a 900mm gas cook top) might work. Has anyone seen this, and do you think it would 'work'. I'd like to make a feature of it, as I love the look, so it will probably be a deep rich blue, or similar.
My Ceasarstone itself, is a light marbled looking white grey (was Ice Cap, before it got dicontinued, but will have to check what similar colour I replaced it with. My cupboards are a blue-grey, 'Brittany Blue'

As you can see, I'm going with a blue- grey theme here! Question is, do the light caesarstone stain easily? Am I better off going with a darker grey stone and lighter cupboards?
Floor will be wood- either spotted gum or ironbark
Wall tiles (aside from the possible glass splashback) will be a light granitey looking matt grey.
Paint will be a light blue- grey tone too, probably (haven't got to that yet!)
My living areas are pretty open plan, so I need to be able to live with my kitchen 'there', in my living areas; (kitchen layout has changed a bit though- just scanner is out- no island bench, wi pantry in corner near bedroom, and fridge next to that, making a wall b/twn kitchen and bedroom)
