Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 30, 2009 9:05 pm Hi all. I have been browsing this forum for a couple of weeks now with great interest. My wife and I are about to have our kitchen renovated. We have had a couple of designs done for us with quotes, however the most recent was only a 2d layout (which I have tried to replicate below roughly). I was hoping to get some feedback about what other people think or even different designs etc. If someone wanted to try and turn it 3D for me that would be great as I could visualise it better!
At this stage we haven't chosen colours fully but we are thinking white cupboards (non gloss) and some sort of light colour benchtop with a darker splashback on the shorter side of the U. Thanks all. http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3372/kitchenpossiblelayout2.jpg Re: New Kitchen Layout 3May 30, 2009 11:02 pm Also, not many fridges fit into a 600 mm deep space. Not sure of the panrty door should swing the other way to allow ready access to the cooking area. Also your work triangle is quite large. You may want to consider moving the cooktop beside the sink. Unfortunately due to the layout of the house and so forth that is all the space we have to work with. I am not overly concerned about the fridge space - we don't plan on buying a double door fridge and have been told that most singles will fit inside a 800 wide space. There isn't much we can do about the fridge sticking out more as there isn't a lot of room and we would like to try and keep the bench/cupboard line the same depth. Good point on the pantry door...that was just my mistake as I whipped up the drawing earlier just from memory. Thanks. Also the triangle isn't that bad..we currently cook in that space no worries with a very similar triangle. The kitchen isn't huge and 1 step from the cooktop will get you to the tap and so forth. Thanks for the replies so far! p.s. Do most people in their new kitchens make the fridge space deeper so it fits right inside?? Re: New Kitchen Layout 5Jun 02, 2009 11:30 am Hi Again, I have had the chance to do up a 3d view so hopefully will get some more opinions. It is close to what we are thinking apart from having a cupboard and some wine racks in some sort of configuration above the fridge. http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/6493/kitchenview1.jpg http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/8462/kitchenview2.jpg Also had a cabinet maker in for another quote etc last night and he mentioned he uses "Grass" brand drawers for soft close etc. Has anyone got this brand in their kitchen or anyone heard of their products? Thanks again. You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15609 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6142 |
