Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 24, 2009 11:19 am What are the standard draw heights for a 3 drawer unit? I was thinking of doing the top and middle draw 180mm, bottom draw 360mm, would that look wrong? What heights do most people have? Also if you could post pics plus what the draw depths are. That would be great. Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 2May 24, 2009 11:54 am 3 drawer configurations vary I have personally done 178 for the top and 272 for the middle and bottom. Reason being if you have a 4 drawer unit the drawer height is 178 for each. This way they match when placed next to each other. If you wanted two shallow drawers and one pot then the measurements you mentioned are adequate providing they match other drawers units. Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! Are those measurements the internal depth or the draw fronts? Thanks Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 5May 24, 2009 5:08 pm _kelly_ :th: now I am wondering if mine will look weird! i went with 144 for the top drawer and 288 for the middle and bottom. Mines pretty much the same! 150mm for the top then the bottom two around 280. If it's any help, I was also worried my top one was too shallow, but I went to a really great kitchen places and they had the same config on display. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 6May 24, 2009 5:14 pm Bloody hell! I just had a horrible thought about my new kitchen (still to be installed). I may be reading the drawings wrong but it looks like the bench height is only 890mm. I am 5'10"!!!!! Joles, since you seem to have the same cabinets as me can I ask you to elaborate on the height of your cabinets to bench...how big is your kicker (mine's 150mm) etc? Now officially worried Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 7May 24, 2009 5:20 pm kelly, my bench height is 900mm. That's what I've always had so that's ok for me. My kicker is 158. The total height of my cabinets is: 158mm for the kicker 722mm for all the drawers in total 20mm for the bench top itself TOTAL of 900mm Does that help?? I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 8May 24, 2009 5:26 pm Thanks joles, I must be reading it right. My kick is 150mm, combined cabinets height 720mm, benchtop 20mm. I just remembered that I am having a 'shadowline' put in under the CS benchtop so that'll bring me up to 900mm total. Normal, but... I always promised myself when I got a custom kitchen I would make the bench higher...being so tall is a pain in the rear when you have to hunch over your chopping board I'll have to live with it I guess Re: HELP- 3 drawer configuration 9May 24, 2009 10:03 pm its never to late to raise the kitchen, its only a plinth or adjustable legs underneath the cabinets. the average is between 140-160 high however for the taller crowd up to 190 is not unheard of. Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! SmartPack did the kitchens for Channel 9's Home Made TV Show Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7930 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12509 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 |
