Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 23, 2009 11:57 am Hey guys, would you please help me to choose the benchtop and rangehood, i got totally no idea of that, thanks. Choice of full laminate kitchen benchtop: 1. square edge 2. 180' rolled edge 3. D-mould edge Choice of 3 Technika rangehoods: 1. Bellissimo 900mm glass canopy (TB10900HA) 2. Bellissimo 900mm stainless stell canopy (D1 900) 3. Bellissimo 900mm slide-out with overhead cupboard to rangehood only (RSL 9) Those are all from Porter Davis. Which one should i choose? I really appreciate your comments! Re: Please help me choose the benchtop and rangehood! 2May 23, 2009 12:08 pm I'm also building with PD! I'm with Prestige so our appliances are Blanco, but we had the same choices. I chose a slideout rangehood with overhead cupboards. I'm also having the ovens built in so I like the seamless look of it all being built in to the cabinetry. The canopy ones are nice too. Depends which look you are going for. Try to get around to as many Access displays as you can and look on the PD website to see the different options in an actual kitchen. May help you to decide. Sorry, I'm not sure about the laminates, but I'd probably go square edge. Which house are you building? I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Most slide-out rangehoods have lower extraction rates, but you get extra cupboard space for spices/alcohol or whatever else you'd like for there. Glass canopys look brilliant, but you normally pay more for the 'look' rather than the technology. Stainless steel canopy's can look a little too industrial and harsh for my liking, having said that they may have better extraction rates. Sorry I haven't been specific re the models you suggested, just thought I'd share my opinion on the types you are looking at ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Please help me choose the benchtop and rangehood! 4May 23, 2009 1:26 pm I would go with a square form benchtop or square edge benchtop as it will maintain a modern look. I would personally choose a stainless steel canopy as i quite like the industrial look it gives the kitchen and i dont like cleaning glass. Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! SmartPack did the kitchens for Channel 9's Home Made TV Show Re: Please help me choose the benchtop and rangehood! 5May 23, 2009 10:41 pm Thanks guys, so kind of you Finally I decide to take the glass one. Slide-out rangehood looks nice, but i do need a high extraction rate one. The glass canopy is quite enough for my daily cooking, and looks brilliant as well. Cheers! Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12921 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
