Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 20, 2009 1:57 pm We are going to have two wall ovens under bench and next to each other. Do you think it looks funny to them have a 90 cm cooktop on top of them or should I put two 60 cm cooktops in? The problem with two cooktops is that they won't have a griddle burner for fish and I don't really need two 60 cm cooktops. Plus then I will need 120 cm rangehood which I think will cost big $. I would appreciate your input. Thanks. Re: Cooktop question 2May 20, 2009 2:28 pm I think a 90cm cooktop/rangehood will look fine, and less strange than 2 60cm cooktops side by side Re: Cooktop question 3May 21, 2009 12:00 am I think 900 too. No idea how hard/easy it is to do, but if you're concerned about it not looking even, maybe see if you can add stainless steel panel (panel may not be the right word) flush with the cooktop either side embedded in the benchtop. A good spot to pop hot pans and might tie it all together nicely, but as I said I'm not sure if it can be done easily to make it look like its always meant to have been there. hahah, please tell me if that makes no sense to you?? Re: Cooktop question 4May 21, 2009 2:37 am Another option to consider is the ILVE domino burners that are a series of 30cm 'modules' that you can put in, with the modules being a a deep fryer, wok burner, teppenyaki grill and standard two burner. Other brands with similar concepts even have vege steamers and fish burners as options. http://www.ilve.com.au/pdf/HI41Series.pdf After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Cooktop question 8May 22, 2009 11:58 pm If the modules are to expensive then the 900mm wide cooktop will look great. To look its best place it in the centre of the two ovens. People use this configuration alot, so your not alone. Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!!
