The ones on steel rods, like in the photo, need to have a special fitting at the ceiling end (I think it's like a hinged piece, to allow the rod to hang straight down). So I'm just reading up on this ecosystem of lights. I'm planning on putting deck lights along the outside edge of a large deck.
