Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Buying Kitchen off Grays online? 2May 02, 2009 2:50 pm danielson has anyone got an experience they coulod share about buying kitchen gear from grays. ovens? benchtops etc. thanks Purchased all my caesarstone / cooker / fridges x2 / rangehood / splashback / a full timber bar / 5 x heated towel railings / all our laundry cupboards / 3 x oversized reclining chaise lounges for our theatre plus our front door handles all from Grays. Love love love them. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Buying Kitchen off Grays online? 3May 02, 2009 8:43 pm I bought our big Ilve double oven (brand new) from Grays (RRP of around $15k - I got it, incl delivery etc, for just over $5k). And our rangehood (reconditioned) I have also bought shade sails, floating flooring, a ceramic knife set, table lamp. There's just a couple of things to keep in mind when bidding 1) Remember to check the buyers premium, this is usually 15% (so if your winning bid is $100, you'll have to pay $115 + shipping) 2) Check whether it's a pick up only auction 3) Be aware that currently (and I think their bidding system may be changing) someone can match your bid at the last minute and they will win the item *IF* they had put an initial bid on earlier than you. So if there's something you think you'll be keen on getting, try and get in with the first $9 bid - you don't need to bid again until the end, but because you put your first bid in early it may help win the item at the end. Be aware of what things cost retail, work out whether you really need the items. Sometimes it's just not worth it, but there can be many good deals to be had (just remember to factor in buyer premium & shipping costs to how much you're willing to pay). Re: Buying Kitchen off Grays online? 4May 11, 2009 3:19 pm We bought our Blanco freestanding stove, dishwasher, & rangehood from Grays. Admittedly we bought those at their traditional you have to be there auction. But saved an absolute fortune. I've noticed you probably don't seem to get as good a deal using an online auction. As has alredy been suggested though, do your research first on the RRP of the item you're after. To make sure you;re getting a discount. Re: Buying Kitchen off Grays online? 5May 11, 2009 10:13 pm Also worth noting - Grays are piloting their new look website www.graysonline.com Scheduled to be officially 'released' later this month I believe, but pretty sure you can use it to view auctions & bid etc. A much nicer interface than their current site. Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers.
