Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 25, 2009 7:01 am Hi everyone, I am sorta not posting on my usual thread due to some issues with our builder...but I was so excited with my kitchen I just had to post them!!! I think its a bit different to the norm sooooo.... The colours are Essa Stone sable luxe for the bench, street light (velour) for the cabinets and the feature colour velveteen pearl all by formica. the feature cupboard with the benchtops are perfect. We are having white tiles as a splashback not sure how that will look though Edited to Add - these are for you 'building with coral 2009' Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Kitchen Pictures!!!! *happy dance* 3Apr 25, 2009 7:47 am thank you kyton! I also posted as I notice alot of people have gorgeous ceasor stone, so thought it would be good to show how beautiful essa stone looks too, as I don't think its as popular - i don't think builders use it much! We nearly went white - but so glad we went chocolate. hmmmmmm chocolate Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! (Edit: I just saw your other post about the basins!) I hope everythig is ok with you and the builder and can be sorted out. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Framing is complete 20/10/2010 we are progressing like a snail on heat - excited and determined but very very slow Steveo Re: Kitchen Pictures!!!! *happy dance* 8Apr 25, 2009 9:01 am Hi Steveo just have to ask the resident expert AKA my partner... he tells me its cheaper, we liked the colour range particularly in the chocolates, its made by laminex....ummmm can't help you other than that - its the same type of stuff stone etc apparently laminex was losing too much $$ to QQ/ceaser stone and this was their answer to make the market more competitive. Maybe someone else knows more? and can help me out??? Thanks for your comments steveo Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Kitchen Pictures!!!! *happy dance* 9Apr 25, 2009 9:39 am that looks delicious. I love the darker benchtops though I have to admit MRs B's benchtop is gorgeous too. Your kitchen looks beautiful Re: Kitchen Pictures!!!! *happy dance* 10Apr 25, 2009 9:48 am essa stone is still a man made quartz stone, like Quantum Quartz and Caesarstone, but the colours/pigments are different. Essa stone isnt as widely known and could almost be considered 'boutique' or 'selective'. They make some beautiful colours and are worth considering for your next stone project. In regards to your splashback, you mentioned using white tiles. Have you thought of using a feature tile in the same/similar colour or complimentary colour to emphasize and show off you great benchtop? It will help break up the white and add an extra dimension to the kitchen. For example a narrow mosaic trim or a slim rectangular tile. The colours you have chosen do look great and i applaud you on choosng something other than poly:) Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! SmartPack did the kitchens for Channel 9's Home Made TV Show Re: Kitchen Pictures!!!! *happy dance* 12Apr 25, 2009 1:00 pm thanks kex and suh! I am very happy with the benchtop! But oh so nervous before it went in because its different to most of the white benchtops SmartPack essa stone is still a man made quartz stone, like Quantum Quartz and Caesarstone, but the colours/pigments are different. What is poly? or is that referring to laminex? Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do!
