Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 22, 2009 7:29 am Hi Guys and Gals, Well here she is...benchtops are Diamond Gloss Pure Mineralstone, and are lovely..am very happy!! Still have to put in glass splashbacks and a few powerpoints (and the fridge), and finish installing the rest of the canopy/range..and had a fit when my Ilve cookers legs weren't long enough, as the benchtops are 800mm thick, but problem fixed, for those of u considering a freestanding oven, think about the leg height and ur benchtops...cause i didnt!!! But Ilve has a set of legs that wind out to 230mm, which means my cooker will sit flush with the bench, which is where I want it....and added to my already blown budget.. Unfortunately I cant seem to upload the before pic's as they r too big, will work on that though as i think its great to see the before and after, and trust me this is a major improvement on what was there. Just need to decide on a dishwasher now. .M. Re: My new kitchen. 11Apr 22, 2009 12:46 pm Did you get a cabinet maker to do it or DIY. Also if you don't mind me asking what was the cost of your kitchen. We are waiting for our quote from Cabinet Maker but pretty sure we can't afford it. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. Re: My new kitchen. 14Apr 22, 2009 1:39 pm Wow.... that looks amazing! I've been thinking of doing Polar White cabinets with a Pure Mineralstone DiamondGloss bench. These pics have just confirmed it - it looks great. Well done...... love the waterfall effect and 'chunky' benches Look forward to seeing the finished result with the splashback. Cheers, Paul Re: My new kitchen. 15Apr 22, 2009 2:03 pm Thanks for the comments, as i said in an earlier thread, its hard to picture what things will look like so its great when people post pictures..for u to steal..i mean borrow ideas. We had a local kitchen company make and install it for us and total cost including the glass splashbacks was $6500.We were very happy with this quote, and happy with the whole process. I had a budget of $3000 for oven/cooktop/sink/mixer...and blew that by taking hubby with me, oven and canopy cost $3500...we saved $1500...quality he says...i hope so, looks great hope i will be happy with Ilve? Bargain was the mixer $400 down to $175..i wanted a chunky tap to follow with the chunky benches.it pays to shop around thats for sure and pay cash when u can, its more of a bargaining chip...sometimes. Thats pretty good, We have asked for lots more cupboards and our budget is $4000 so I am guessing that, that wont be happening. Your kitchen looks awsome.
