After seeing SuH's and a few random pic on the net, i really like the seamless look. I wonder if it's a lot more expensive? Will have to talk to my cabinet maker when the time comes. Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 29Apr 17, 2009 12:01 pm I like the look of no handles as well Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 30Apr 18, 2009 10:40 am bev hrmm i am dabbling with the idea of having a handle less kitchen. After seeing SuH's and a few random pic on the net, i really like the seamless look. I wonder if it's a lot more expensive? Will have to talk to my cabinet maker when the time comes. I'd like to know that too Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 31Apr 18, 2009 12:09 pm We are going handleless except for the corner pantry. When i asked my cabinet maker the price difference he said it would be approx. $1000 more for the whole kitchen because of the extra labour cost to make the cupboards and drawers. Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 32Apr 18, 2009 1:07 pm Just had a quick chat to our cabinet maker, he didn't give an exact price because it obviously depends on the size of your kitchen. But he basically said it's not cheap. Not something to choose if you are on a tight budget! The mechanisms to open the cupboards are pricey and can cost hundreds of dollars. He also said fingerprints can be an issue for some people. Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 33Apr 18, 2009 3:09 pm Can you just have a normal cupboard with no handles and no special mechanisms to open the doors, but with maybe a little cutout on the bottom corner if it is upper cupboards? I noticed bunning's kitchens had a couple of upper cupboard, no handles and no cutout or anything. It was a normal cupboard just without the handles and it seemed fine to use... Has anyone done that? Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 34Apr 18, 2009 3:50 pm Or if the overheads are hinged to the side, they can just have the push button opener. It's only the ones hinged to the top that have to have the expensive gas lift mechanism to kepp them open. I think Laminex do the type of thing that SuH has, pretty sure it is costed by the metre. Perhaps give them a call. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I'll look into it more in depth when i get my place in 2 months. Has anyone done that? that's all ours were. Normal hinges on cupboards without traditional handles. Re: Your thoughts on handleLESS kitchen cupboards 39Apr 18, 2009 6:45 pm What a great idea!!! I love the look of no handles and I think having the no handles on the top cupboards is a good idea considering you won't be using them as much.
