Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 04, 2009 8:36 pm I am installing an Aqua Pure tap in the kitchen. Probably a silly request, but do I have to have it over the sink? I know it has to go close to plumbing connections, but is there some sort of thing I could use as a drainer tray, like the Zip tap ones? It is not refrigerated, just the ambient. It will only be used for drinking, not cooking. Hope it's not too stupid a request??? However, a couple of things to consider: (1) it needs access to cold water (obviously). So, close to the sink is handy to prevent having to drill holes through kitchen carcasses. (2) occasionally, the spout does drip .. a few drops here and there straight after you've used it. So, having it in the sink is a good idea. Have you considered having a benchtop system? Its a matter of drilling through the stainless steel sink, which is no biggy. Fist drill a pilot hole through the sink with a 1/8th steel drill using a slow speed on your drill using some oil as a lubricant. Then drill a second hole with a larger drill to accomodate the brass thread on your filter faucet. As you'll need water you can unscrew your cold sink water connection, screw a brass tee on and then a 15mm duo valve. Its a good idea to use a 300kpa pressure limiting valve before you connect your plastic pipe. If you placed the faucet anywhere else/.....say on the bench top, you risk errant water that spills in the bench top to leak through where the sink sits on the bench (they are rarely sealed adaquately) or just rotting the bench top if its a timber based one. ) Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10927 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 8971 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7380 |
