Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 04, 2009 6:54 pm Hi All, I am new to this forum, and I am already obsessed! Positioning of the microwave was discussed quite a while ago, and someone mentioned a 'unit' for all electrical items such as the kettle, toaster and microwave. I am just wondering if anyone has actually done this and has any images? I am also considering putting the microwave in the pantry - any suggestions? Thanks Re: Microwave and other Electricals... 2Apr 04, 2009 7:07 pm My mum has a roll up unit like this across a corner of her bench top, her microwave is behind another rollup too, but I must admit in practice the microwave rollup door is always left open anyway and the other one a lot of the time - to let steam escape from the kettle etc - I wouldn't do one myself - I don't mind seeing the microwave and the kettle and I don't keep other appliances on the bench. I think it is best to have the microwave more accesible, more user friendly that way, so I wouldn't put it in the pantry either. That's just my opinion, of course - there may be others who like it tucked away. Re: Microwave and other Electricals... 3Apr 04, 2009 7:36 pm I agree, I personally wouldn't put my microwave in the pantry. But then again, I use my microwave all the time so I'd prefer it out as it's more handy. My sister in law has her microwave in the pantry, but she doesn't use hers much so it works well for her. I suppose it comes down to how often you use it, and whether it would bother you if it were in the pantry. It's going to be a walk in pantry, so I dont think it would be so bad. I guess there are no real rules, it's just up to personal choice. Thanks for the replies!
