Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 01, 2009 10:10 pm I love the look of the round sink. Not sure if it would be practical tho'. I am thinking maybe 2. Has anyone got one, would love some practical advice. I also have an Aqua Pure tap to put somewhere near. It's all so stressful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Practicality?? 2Apr 02, 2009 6:30 am I think it comes down to you personally in the kitchen. Are you messy with your water? Are you looking at a brand with a seperate drainer board? Solid benchtop or laminex? With your Aquapure, if you haven't bought it already, there is a new filter called a HiFlow which runs directly thru the cold water line of your sink mixer. Filter lasts about 12months and is sub micron. It removes the need of that 2nd little tap at the sink. Possumchops Now the proud owner of 3.7acres of Serenity. Colour selection completed! Practicality?? 4Apr 02, 2009 7:49 am Round sinks were common in older houses here, not sure why, anyway can be a problem for larger items such as oven trays, bakeing dishes, even large plates,so I don't think they are as practical as the square bowls - would be ok in a bar sink as you would probably only wash glasses and maybe small plates in there but I would prefer a square bowl in the kitchen. Re: Round sink...has anyone got one? Practicality?? 5Apr 02, 2009 10:31 am Mmmm! Thanks for replies, but I think you have all helped to make up my mind. No round sink! Sometimes many heads can make a person see a bit more clearly. Practicality?? 6Apr 02, 2009 12:55 pm We have a single round sink in the place we live now. We're not getting a round one in our new house though. Once I was trying to wash the round microwave plate and it literally got stuck in the sink. There was no where for me to put my fingers down the side to lift it up. I had to get a little suction cap to get it out. Re: Round sink...has anyone got one? I wish they were more practical, but the laundry sounds a good idea. I may use that idea if i ever do the laundry. At this stage ripping out the back of the house is expensive enough! Especially with the tap coming out of the bench. They look better in bar areas full of ice. Only thing with that particular one I pictured is they are not very deep. We often soak very soiled clothes in buckets anyway so very rarely use the laundry sink for it.
