Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: What have you been quoted for your new kitchen? 21Apr 01, 2009 8:48 pm I am hoping that our kitchen 3.5m along the wall and 3.5m island won't cost more than $15K (excluding appliances) I just want laminate cupboards, granite benchtop, lots of under bench drawers and hettich hardware. Does this sound achievable? Re: What have you been quoted for your new kitchen? 22Apr 01, 2009 8:52 pm I had a kitchen done about 6 years ago and it was u shape no overheads fairly large and it was only $4500 from memory that included the stove and hot plates. We didnt have any overhead cupboards though, and it was all laminate including the benchtop. Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: What have you been quoted for your new kitchen? 23Apr 01, 2009 10:16 pm We just signed up the contract and the price is $12632, not including tradework. Add another approx $2400 for tradework (installation, plumbing, new gas connecting/fitting, canopy install). We do the kitchen removal + tiling ourselves. Laminex benchtop length 2.805m + 0.9m + 1.79m + 1.93m + 4.8m 10 cabinets + 4 o/head cupboards + 2 sets of softclose draws Brush aluminium kickboard, 32 handles, new panel for the old pantry So all up just over $15k for the new kitchen & storage/entertainment unit (where the 4.8m benchtop + 4x1200cabinets) We're in Brisbane and I believe the products are Aust. made Re: What have you been quoted for your new kitchen? 24Apr 02, 2009 7:04 am Taffy I had a kitchen done about 6 years ago and it was u shape no overheads fairly large and it was only $4500 from memory that included the stove and hot plates. ATM I have none (one thing I hate about my existing kitchen) but if it's going to save me $2k then I can do without them! Anyone know? I've got a few more quotes lined up so we'll see what happens. I'm thinking positively Re: What have you been quoted for your new kitchen? 25Apr 02, 2009 7:34 am this was my reno kitc back in Dec 07. We paid, I think, a total of $7,000 for this. That included: we smashed up and removed the old one (although it helped that it was pretty much falling apart anyway) paint, $200 (we (or should I say "I") did it utilising old appliances (except buying new dishwasher $600 and sink/tap $100 ebay and overhead $200 ebay) and all tradesmen - We needed a plumber and sparky because we moved all appliances from original spot (we have double brick walls too which doesn't help when renovating). I think tradies were $650 sparky and $950 plumber! The cabinets, I think, were about $2,500 including installation (note that included laminate as our splashback - which till today, is still a really nice feature). $100 vinyl flooring (we lay it!) CABINETS from Komplit in Sunshine were about $2,000 (including laminate backsplash, nice handles, white laminate for doors (they said a colour would cost more) and any choice of laminate top etc.) and including delivery and installation by them. AND BTW, that there is vinyl from the roll! we did it ourselves for $100. Not a great job, but did the job until we can afford something better!!! Annie A thankful person is a happy person.
