We are having Glass Spashback in our kitchen. I was wondering what's the longest glass spashback before it needs to be cut? The wall will be 5meters long. Can a Glass Splashback be installed without a cut?
Ta!

They separated the left, right and hotplate (middle). I was really disappointed when I saw it as I was expecting a whole sheet of glass. Nothing is written in the contract regarding cutting the glass and we paid 1k extra from tiles to glass splashback. If I knew they would cut the glass, I might as well have gone with tiles... We'll have a discussion re this soon. Hope things go our way. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Length of Glass Splashback 4Mar 31, 2009 8:14 pm Do you think it would look nice if we put a 2-3mm strip of stainless steel on the join. As the join is already there and visible, might as well make it a feature by putting a metal strip on it. What do you think? \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Length of Glass Splashback 5Apr 11, 2009 9:37 pm Hi Dembi, the metal strip over the stainless would really look better if it accentuates the overall all look of the kitchen through simple metallic colours such as gold or silver. I think most would be able to help you more aptly if you posted a picture of the kitchen where the splashback will be installed.
Re: Length of Glass Splashback 6Apr 11, 2009 9:47 pm Ouch.. thats gotta be a shock.. We had been told that glass splashback over 2.7m "may" have a join in it.. If they didnt tell you before hand then that would be upsetting.. As most of us go for the splashback as it makes the area look smooth etc.. Good luck getting them to replace it.. Dont like your chances but its definately worth a shot. -------------------------------------------------------- Building in Highlands Craigieburn Status: Building the Laundryless 25.5: Slab Complete Re: Length of Glass Splashback 7Apr 11, 2009 9:50 pm dembi_2000 That's great Casa. I wonder if they only used tempered glass behind the cooktop and normal glass on the sides - would be cheaper for them if that was the case. Some things are worth waiting for. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39047 |
