KitCraft Kitchens wanted $1980 for them as an upgrade on our quote, i went to a local cabinetmaker who knocked them up for me for $690 cash but i just had to install them myself which was fairly easy.. as long as the rails are mounted square and level then there shouldnt be too much of a problem.. hardest part was getting the spacing right so tall tomato sauce bottles etc wouldn't hit the underside of the drawer above it etc. I did not actually put the drawers together i.e. cut the board to make the drawer bottom and screw it together etc, but i did fit the rails to the pantry sides etc.. if you're replacing existing drawers it may be easier for you as the mounting holes are all spaced etc already.. Re: blum soft closers drawers 4Mar 26, 2009 12:03 pm Thanks todolist and nang3. The quote for them on our kitchen is so expensive I was wondering if we could do it ourselvs and save a packet. I think that I will look into it further as it seems to be a good option. I converted 2 cupboards to drawers (2 and 3 drawer) using Blum rails. Besides the rails, all I needed was some laminate board cut to size from bills board in kingsgrove (sydney). Then just need to measure and measure again before drilling pilot holes for the screws. Once the rails are in you need to measure and drawup where to drill on the faceboards. It's a bit daunting on your first one but if you followed the instructions correctly you shouldn't have any problems. I've dug some footings to embed a post anchor into. My holes are around 450mm deep which I'll put a 200mm stirrup into. The bottom of these holes seem firm enough. … 0 3316 Like pulse said, you can fit drawers however because of the placement of the sink there isn't much depth so you would have to have cut outs for the waste pipes.
