Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 13, 2009 4:07 pm Hi everyone,
I was wondering how much would a decent kitchen cost in Perth and who you would advise to go with. I am now looking at designing our kitchen and I was told that places like Kitchen Kraftsmen are very expensive. I got a quote from them and it is about $20k. I think this is too much considering that this is not including the tops (we want to do our own granite). Any help will be appreciated Nina "The fearless are merely fearless. I think ktkrft are good if you want it flatpacked but not if you want it installed you could also try MrCupboards or There are some great cabinet makers in Wangara if you want the name of them let me know..... Just so we can sort of compare a little. Its good to see if we are all in the same ball park. Re: Kitchen $ in WA 9Mar 14, 2009 1:48 pm We signed off on our new kitchen this morning at Supreme Kitchens. We are spending about 32k. Our kitchen is about 4.5m x 3.5m with upper & lower cabinets. plus stone bench top with waterfall ends and glass splash back. We are also getting Full gloss enamel paint cabinets. Re: Kitchen $ in WA 10Mar 15, 2009 4:24 pm i have so far got two quotes and both are around the same figure. our kitchen is not excessively big, but it does have a lot of draws and upper cupboards. i want to get the granite from someone else, so the quotes do not even include the tops or soft close draws or the splashback. the finish we want is a white color vinyl wrap so should not be too expensive.
our friends found a guy who did their whole house (kitchen and vanities) in american oak for $13k. not bad at all... I do however have some reservations about going ahead with a one man band for this kind of job. This particular guy has been working on their house for about 3 months now. i think sometimes you need to pay more for the peace of mind have the job done in a reasonable time. the question is how much more? i just think that our kitchen complete, with everything we want, should not cost us anything more than $20-22k. what do you think? LaFond-Lewis Re: Kitchen $ in WA 11Mar 15, 2009 8:40 pm I agree with you, 32K for us was including everything...appliances, under cabinet lights, stone bench top, glass splashback, plumber, electrician, cabinets and some brickwork, rendering & plastering. So I think that was pretty good, we did'nt skimp on anything. But we were lucky with new appliances. Our new freestanding stove should have cost 6k, but we managed to get it for 3k. Same with rangehood was 1500, we got it 1000. The only thing we did'nt get a bargin on was the microwave. But that was ok.
You have the right idea with the budget, if thats it then stick to it. Our budget went over by 2k. My advice is dont compromise on products though, as you may end up paying more in the long run. Re: Kitchen $ in WA 12Mar 16, 2009 10:46 am thanks Angelblue for you reply (and everyone else)
considering how much inclusions you have in your kitchen price, it is not too bad at all. if i count the appliances, the granite and the splashback, our kitchen will be around the same price, so I don't think I am asking too much i got a couple of contacts over the wekend and will ask them to give us a quote, so will see how i go as far as appliances go, i totally agree with you, they have to be good. we decided to go for everything electrolux and managed to get 4 items under 5k (ceramic gas cooktop, rangehood, dishwasher and a 1 & 1/2 oven) so i think this is ok our granite so far came to 7.5k for the whole house (kitchen with a breakfast bar, very large ensuite, powder and bathroom). i think the price is ok considering it is first grade granite i just hope i can find a good cabinet maker who will give me a good price:0 nina "The fearless are merely fearless. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6632 2 4682 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7395 |
