We need to get our overhead cupboards and glass splashback installed after handover and DH wants to start getting quotes ASAP. So I really need to work out colour as soon as possible... And that is where I am absolutely hopeless I have no idea about colour at all. Our base colour is 'licorice linea' natural finish benchtop is 'white valencia' flint finish wall colour will be a similar colour to 'white pepper' (wattyl paint) At first I was thinking about going with a white glossy/metallicy type colour (?) for the overheads, but I am not sure how it would look and wonder whether it would be just safe to go with the same as the base ones. I dont want the kitchen area to look to dark...or like my kids have chosen the colours either! With the splashback I was originally going to go with a deep red colour but not really sure if it will fit in with the base cupboards and am now wondering what colour would look good, esp if I make the top cupboards a different colour. Any help would be appreciated A pic if it helps... Overheads are to go above the stovetop...and possibly if we have enough $ over the fridge. licorice linea colour: I hope that makes sense...not only am I unable to do colour, I find that I am unable to express myself properly! Re: cupboard/splashback colour help! 2Mar 08, 2009 7:27 pm We have licorice linea too - very nice colour. Except our overheads are in this colour, base are in Oyster Linea. Glass splashback is a moroine-cherry colour called Metallic Sparkling Shiraz. Ill post photos of it late next week. With Caesarstone Osprey. Maybe go for a cherry splashback, verys imilar to the dark red you were thinking..? Plus we have whitish grey perspex cupboards along the top. Softens the look, as the licorice linea is only overhead shelf. And it all works really well I think.

But the base cabinets in this one are licorice linea, which we changed to the top. Base for ours are now oyster linea. Note ours is not the galley style kitche, L shape with timber servery. You're fortunate in that, just about any colour splashback would suit your scheme. If you lashed out on the glass doors, perhaps you could cut back on the glass splashback and have white under clear glass which would give a green tinge? This would save you $$ on starfire and tie the splashback colour in with the glass on the overheads. Just an idea. Re: cupboard/splashback colour help! 5Mar 09, 2009 7:28 pm I think Salt and Pepper's splash back looks terrific with dark bottom cupboards and the white/light bench tops. Click on the picture so a larger version loads in a new window.. Re: cupboard/splashback colour help! 6Mar 14, 2009 7:51 pm Thanks guys
No budget for glass doors unfortunately and we are not sure now where to even go to get just overheads made up. A couple of the kitchen places we went to, only do full kitchens, and kitcraft only use vinyl wrap and the textured one was standard... not what I wanted, they didnt have a big range in colour either. I am not sure if flatpacks will come in the size we need, as we have a tiny space between the wall oven and what will eventually be a rangehood cupboard, (we couldnt measure it as all the windows for once were all locked), besides the colour choice for flatpaks is limited. I think it will have to be a made-to-measure- job, just dont now where to go. As for the splashback I have now ruled out red, it will be easier to change the colour scheme of the house later that way , and want a beigy/ browny metallic type colour... I know someone had a colour like that on one of these threads, just have to find it! At the moment I am finding this all too hard (I blame the pregnancy! ) and am starting to hate the kitchen and I haven't even moved in yet! Re: cupboard/splashback colour help! 7Mar 14, 2009 7:57 pm Have you looked at Ikea kitchens at all? They have wall cabinets available

Re: cupboard/splashback colour help! 8Mar 14, 2009 8:51 pm Hi Monkey, I completely understand the, to hard bit..........that seems to be our build in general at the moment. But after looking into kitchens quite alot at the moment I have come across these guys who look like they might be what you are after.
http://www.mrcupboards.com.au/sample%20test.html as for your colours........... 1 idea could be just to do them in white like your benchtops but have 1 of the over heads like and open shelf and then you could put small accessories inside and choose what ever colour you like at the time it makes for a great feature aswell............... again there is nothing wrong with doing your splashback in white also it keeps it all very fresh and clean looking and you don't have to worry about it ever dating as such. I have tried to find some images that sort of show what I mean, but good luck anyway and I am sure you will get your inspiration back very soon.
