Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Need a Dishwasher recommendation please :) 21Mar 12, 2009 9:03 am When I was building a house I had to call a dishwasher repair guy to the rental I was living in. I asked him what he'd buy and he said Asko or Miele because he hardly ever saw them.
I bought an Asko and was not disappointed. I can remember once in four years when I pulled a dish out that hadn't been cleaned properly. You don't have to rinse your plates, just scrape them. I'm renovating a house now and the dishwasher for the kitchen was a no-brainer - Asko - erm - can't remember the model number but it's the basic model. It's not going to be stainless steel for $800, though. My experience is that with dishwashers you definitely get what you pay for. I've lived in loads of rentals with various dishwashers (ranging from cheap and cheerful to 'high end') and the cheap and cheerful ones usually disappoint. Saying that, the Smeg dishwasher I had in one rental was dreadful too. So, here's another vote for Asko! I am installing a new Bosch SMU4HTS01A built under dushwasher. I have 2 questions.
