Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 01, 2009 4:42 pm Hey guys,
My wife and I are just finalising the design with the drafty and she mentioned that if we were going to have a laminex benchtop on our 4100mm long island we would have to have a join as the longest single piece would be around 3500mm or somewhere around that? Does anyone have a 4m long benchtop in laminex without a join? We are happy to shorten it as 4m is very long but only if we have to. Cheers, Bailey. Energy efficient custom built house - Moving In 3 Weeks Re: Length of Island Bench 2Mar 01, 2009 4:52 pm Amerind make a laminate in lengths of 4900mm, which means with a rolled end they can be up to 4200mm long and 1000mm wide without a join.
Examples of the colours can be seen in the inForm range - http://www.gunnersens.com.au/products/d ... nform.html The gloss in the inForm range is standard HPL only and I would not recommend it for a benchtop - if you want a gloss benchtop that won't end up scratched and flat within six months you should consider having a look at Laminex Diamondgloss or Nevamar Gloss tops (they are the same product) http://www.gunnersens.com.au/products/d ... vamar.html, but the longest single sheet you can get is 3600mm, and that is without any postforming allowance.
