Hi - do you think it's possible to split and convert the bench/cupboards on the left hand side into an 'island' bench?
Appreciate any suggestions.
Regards

and yeah to create ur long side into an island bench wouldnt be very hard at all ... as mentioned above... its jus carcases screwed together.... also what is the width of ur island bench... 900mm or 600mm... cause you dont want to make an island bench only 600mm wide...almost defeats the purpose... !!! But all in all, well thought out project...and should come together nicely... difficulty: easy - medium.... not hard work @ all..biggest work would be seperating your tops IF they are stone. Re: is it possible...? 9Feb 24, 2009 7:39 am Thanks for the info. Benches are only laminate, not stone. Am wondering if I should have the all the doors stripped and sprayed white, and replace the benchtops with the butchers block wooden type? Probably expensive and something to think about down the track as we haven't moved in yet! Ur kitchen looks nice already Is the light fitting a slim fluro' ? Whether to spray it in white, i think it depends on the whole look of ur house? Is it traditional like? If the doors are solid wood, I think better keep it. However, maybe u can consider re painting the wall, changing the benchtop to stainless steel for a more modern look. I guess for wood benchtop, it depends on if u've kids. Comparatively, laminate is easier to maintain. undermount sink 13Feb 27, 2009 7:02 am Hello,
Has anyone upgraded to an undermount sink with Carlisle Homes? They have quoted me $849 to upgrade to an undermount sink. I am still shopping around for homes at the moment and $849 seems a bit pricey for a sink. Thank you yes it is possible but watch for noise transmission, decouple as best you can. Maybe wider top and bottom plates with 70mm studs to allow the cabinet to be recessed fully 1 6633 You can wash over existing pavers with 10% solution of water and hydrochloric acid, then wash off.
