Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 20, 2009 9:57 pm Hi everyone,
When I had to pick all the colours for our kitchen (at prestart), I was 39 weeks pregnant. Now that I have had the baby, and am able to think more clearly, I don't think what I chose is going to look right . Looking for some advice and suggestions please . Flooring will likely be a lightish wood, Tasmanian oak or similar. This is what I had chosen- Splash Back - Cocoa glass Bench Top and Island- Essa Crystal Salt Cupboard Doors - Pearl Bisque Draws - Pearl Bisque (kitchen has mostly drawers) Feature shelving- Oyster Linea Kickboard - Pearl Bisque Hardware / Taps - Stainless steel Handles - Stainless steel My concerns with my current choice are- 1. That Crystal salt is very white, and that the Pearl Bisque looks "wrong" with it 2. Oyster Linea might look odd with wood flooring 3. The cocoa spashback won't look good with the flooring I like all the things I have chosen, but just don't think they look right together. I am happy to change any part of it, but want it to look good together. I don't really want a white kitchen, but am thinking it would be easier than trying to choose! Also looking for some site recommendations where I can look at photos of nice kitchen online, my googling efforts have been pretty poor . Re: HELP!! I was in the same boat as you; did all my selections before the baby came and then realised they were all wrong!! Do you have any pics of the cocoa splashback, the crystal salt and the pearl bisque? The Pearl Bisque doesn't look pink to me in the sample as it does in the picture, either.... Re: HELP!! PICS ADDED 4Feb 21, 2009 8:30 am Love the splashback, love the Oyster Linea ... those two definitely go. If the Linea is high up, I think it should look fine, it very light in colour and not overpowering at all. The Pearl Bisque does look pink on screen...that's the only thing I personally am not keen on in this colour combination.
I'm sure there have been a few Pearl Bisques done on here....anyone! Re: HELP!! PICS ADDED 5Feb 21, 2009 8:49 am Hey. We used Pearl dust for our kitchen, while the sample I had didn't look pink, the colour on the computer screen did and I have to say in real life it definitely throws a bit of pink. Thats probably the only thing I would change if you don't want pink undertones in there. I love all the other selections though and I think they will look great! (So will the pearl bisque but only if you don't mind that pinky thing) Re: HELP!! PICS ADDED 6Feb 21, 2009 10:21 am hi, i think the pearl bisque will be a great transition colour between the orange-brown floor and the grey browns of the splashback and shelving.
The benchtop will also compliment this decision. Also when they are in the kitchen, the light will bounce and reflect off each colour, helping to create a bit of colour harmony. You will be fine Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! SmartPack did the kitchens for Channel 9's Home Made TV Show Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7934 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12523 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7168 |
