We are looking at installing a new kitchen into our reno, and hubby wants shiny benchtops. the Pure Mineralstone is only in our pantry, and I don't do a lot of chopping or scratchy type stuff in there, so I can't really comment on its scratch-resistant properties. It seems to hold up ok for what I do use it for - the toaster, microwave, kettle and other bits and pieces live on it and get moved around a lot and so far so good. Paddy05 has it in her kitchen, maybe she can advise? For her pics look at the 'Show me your kitchen' thread. I think there are some others who've used it too but can't think who at the moment. Southies - what can I say, my kitchen must be memorable. Re: benchtop choice help 9Feb 18, 2009 8:06 pm Thankyou for your help, have just checked out paddy 05's kitchen bench and kitchen, looks fab.... i can't wait to get started now on the reno...its always so hard to choose colours etc from a 2"x2" square, great to get ideas from others, and be able to look t the finished product...
many thanks again...and keep the pic's coming on this forum! m. OMG...why did we start this project....!! Re: benchtop choice help 11Feb 18, 2009 8:54 pm HI there I am just new to this forum and spotted your post.
Our kitchen goes in next week we are having the Pure Mineralstone benchtop too. Our doors are going to be new designer white gloss vinyl wrap. It looks lovely not super glossy white but looks nice and smooth easy to clean. I am still deciding on the splashback though.....curious to know if you have decided this one yet? I am super excited! The diamond gloss has 7 year warranty against wear and is meant to be more hardy than other type of gloss. I am happy to post photos once its finally in. Re: benchtop choice help 12Feb 18, 2009 8:56 pm Oh sorry I forgot to add I did my own little stress test of a sample (even ran a knife over it) and didn't see any damage. Maybe order a sample and see if you can break it for you own peace of mind. Re: benchtop choice help 13Feb 18, 2009 9:04 pm we are looking at a glass splashback and stainless steel appliances, we have just had the cypress pine floors polished up with a satin finish. which i love, and wanted to go for a neutral kitchen u could accessorise with any colour.
Would love to see photos of ur kitchen..thanks for the offer...and good luck..! .m. OMG...why did we start this project....!!
