I now have the funds to do a complete renovation yet no matter how I draw it up I don't seem to be happy At the moment it's a U-Shape and every one seems to say that its the best way. But I lack storage space immensly and I really like having a full bench to prepare food on which I won't have with a U-Shape kitchen. The easiest way to add storage space to the present design would be to add a row of overhead cupboards on the wall above the stove, with a retractable rangehood under the cupboard which goes over the stove. Doesn't help with the bench space issue though. Gives you a bit more bench space next to the sink. You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn.
