Abstar, your kitchen is stunning and that splashback O.M.G...http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p371/brojas7906/469_jaw_dropping.gif It nearly makes me want to spend the extra $4000 for a glass splashback upgrade to my own kitchen, it's beautiful. Re: Show me your kitchen... 142Sep 01, 2009 1:48 pm Oh I have been looking forward to posting in this thread since it started and now I can! So exciting! Our kitchen isn't quite finished, still waiting on some brackets for the lift up cupboards, and appliances need to be installed, but we are pretty much there. Benchtops went in today and look great. The best before shot I have on this computer - some of the kitchen already removed but I am sure you get the idea of PINK! during after more after Island bench inside my pantry - love the drawers Can't wait to get the splash back in. Glass guy coming on Thursday, I am hoping he has some inspiration because I am still very undecided. Thanks for looking Andrea Re: Show me your kitchen... 144Sep 08, 2009 11:29 am I need to get pics of my partners parents kitchen... its an interesting concept. Not sure how old it is but they have gone with a green and black theme. Sounds awful.. looks great ! But have basically used what looks like a black glass splashback for the entire kitchen bench... wouldnt recommend it... nightmare to keep clean! And its scratched to buggery from the dog jumping up on the bench (he likes hugs when you get home lol) I found this gallery on a Sunshine Coast kitchen cabinet maker... has some great ideas in it. I would have love to have gone with a red glass splashback in my kitchen, unfortunately we are first home buyers and on the most budget package possible so no glass splashbacks for us. But when I re-do my kitchen one day.. Ill go with these guys I rekon. But not so great in that now I am second guessing the colours I have just chosen for my kitchen Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to this thread in the coming months, and even more hopefully, I hope I still love my colours when it's done!! Although I've never been happy with my benchtop choice, but what ya gonna do with budgets.... Those with Laminex Diamond Gloss benchtops, how are they holding up to scratches? I really wanted a gloss benchtop, but have gone a boring old velour finish laminex. Re: Show me your kitchen... 148Sep 24, 2009 9:50 pm This is our kitchen. We've just moved into ours and have been quoted by the same guys that did our previous kitchen, only $13,000 for Caesar stone benchtops in our choice of colour, with sink, mixers, old one removed and new kitchen installed! Old kitchen http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02875.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02884.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02895.jpg New kitchen with Victorian ash timber veneer cabinets and glass upper doors (made of 2 sheets of laminated glass with white paint between the 2). http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02925.jpg The dark patch on the centre of the splashback is because the Qasair rangehood blew a transfomer and so the lights underneath were not working. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02926.jpg Cooktop http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02929.jpg Pull out pantry http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02927.jpg Abey sink which I hate as the corners are too sharp and it is too small after our old Franke 3 bowl sink. But the tap is the love of my life and is so sexy. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02930.jpg Magic corner cupboard (excuse the mess). http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02931.jpg Pantry drawers http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02928.jpg Granite splashback (it has greens and amethyst swirls which are hard to see in the pic.) http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02936.jpg Back of the bench (you can not see it but I have a pullout ironing board in the top left drawer which I have not used as we forgot to put in a powerpoint.) http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/DSC02933.jpg I'm sorry about some of the pictures being blurry and the big size. I could either have them this size or little tiny ones which you could hardly see. Looks like I can see a little door just above the bench? Or did you leave that as wasted space? Those corners are so hard to know what to do sometimes. Thanks Re: Show me your kitchen... 159Oct 05, 2009 8:32 am Hi Neverfinished....WOW what a transformation, looks stunning. It appears you have put a lot of thought into the layout.Love the pull out pantry doors & your tap Gee you must miss those lovely green bench tops Congrats looks great, Loretta Built The Jenmark with Cavalier Homes Macarthur. http://camdenacres.blogspot.com/ Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17870 We are in - front landscaping begins Re: Show me your kitchen... 160Oct 05, 2009 9:39 am Thank you for the kind remarks. I know that it is still a little old fashioned with the timber but we had to make it fit in with the rest of the house. Aren't you all envious of our wooden beams? They were the worst mistake of our lives. Also, my husband refused to have anything but timber and keeping the slate floor nearly led to a divorce. He actually ordered new polished porcelain tiles, booked a tiler and started to rip the slate up before he decided that he couldn't bear to give up the slate. He also refused to cover the brick behind the bar stools despite everyone telling him how awful it looks. The splashback may look a little too busy for some but this was another compromise. The OH hated all 30 glass colours I picked and in desperation I agreed to the granite splashback so we could finish the kitchen. However, I did have some wins such as the glass doors and the drawers plus the magic corners in two of the cupboards. Miss_ticky2, there is an appliance area behind those corner bifold doors. This is on runners so we can pull it out. We store our tea etc on a shelf inside. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/appliance002.jpg http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk279/Neverfinished05/appliance001.jpg And just because love this too, I have added a picture of our spice drawer with Ikea inserts and bottles.
