Thanks. Very nice! Hi Macy, I have linked the images again and they seem to work now, don't know why they disappeared before. Thanks for looking at our blog, it's so much fun doing all this building stuff but it's even better to share it with other like minded people. Re: Show me your kitchen... 105Jul 10, 2009 12:20 am haze Hi Macy, I have linked the images again On your previous post? I'm still getting the three question marks. StresssedOut said no pictures too. I've seen this sort of thing before, some people can see the pics and some can't. Oh well, we can see them on your blog. Re: Show me your kitchen... 106Jul 10, 2009 9:33 am I can't see some pictures when viewing the forum as a guest only when I log in, that might be the cause of not seeing photos. Now we just want to see it all come together! Our island bench is about 2850mm wide, 900mm deep and the bench ends are the full 900mm deep and 100mm thick. There will also be a 10mm (I think) shadowline between the benchtop and the ends, so the bench appears to float a little bit. No probs, I really like what you've done to your kitchen. 100mm thick! no wonder they look thicker than what ours would be, they look really good! I hope our 330mm don't look too skinny now that I see your side panels... how thick is the benchtop going to be? what is it made of? Can't wait to see it all finished! Sort of white with a chunky salt-like grain through it. We are going to the site on Sunday so it may have been installed. We can't wait either! Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Show me your kitchen... 110Jul 10, 2009 10:01 pm I love your kitchen! I notice you have handless drawers ATM...is that permanent or are there handles to be fitted later? I really do love the streamlined look of no handles btw If you're in Melbourne I would love to know who did your kitchen Re: Show me your kitchen... 112Jul 10, 2009 10:21 pm Hey Kelly, yeah there are holes for the handles on the pot drawers below the benches but the overhead cupboards are all handle-less. There are handle-less cupboards above and below the wall oven cavity as well (that's on the licorice linea wall, the dark wall that is). Oh and we are in Adelaide so our cabinet maker can't help you unfortunately, one thing I will say though, if you go to any cabinet maker with very definite ideas and pictures etc then they should be able to do almost anything. Re: Show me your kitchen... 113Jul 21, 2009 10:01 pm We had our kitchen installed yesterday - not fully done as yet Re: Show me your kitchen... 115Jul 27, 2009 1:48 pm I LOVE ALL YOU KITCHENS!! There are pretty good. I haven't got a kitchen as yet as mine is in the process of being organised. I just need a opinion on the size of my kitchen to be Our kitchen size is 3m wide by 3.6m long wall to wall. With the benches in its 1.8m wide and 3.6m long from bench to bench. What do you think? I'm a bit of a worry wart as I'm am new to this whole building thing. I have spoken to my family and they think its good and plenty big enough. It can't be changed now as this is the final plans. But I think its interesting getting other opinions. Thanks Re: Show me your kitchen... 116Jul 27, 2009 2:04 pm i cant believe i dint put a pic of my kitchen here LOL here it is http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/MissyTJ76/Tags/P1170861.jpg?t=1248667410 John, Tarin and the Kids Built and moving in to the Regent Grande with Masterton homes http://thebrownsaremovingtothecountry.blogspot.com Re: Show me your kitchen... 117Jul 27, 2009 7:43 pm Inspired I really like that first home kitchen. We had feature brick in our last kitchen ( it was the 80's) this time we've gone for plaster walls. Our kitchen is pretty much the same design as last time with about one cupboard more length and slightly wider. Even down to the jarrah capping but last time with brick below. As you can see we still have stuff all over the place. The stack in front of the capping includes all the leftover carpet, and a few things that belong in the garage as well as my little old sewing machine and some painting gear that hasn't made it to the garage yet. Dh is working on sorting out the garage atm so these things will be disappearing soon. We have 2 sunken rooms in the new house, and he thought it was hilarious how 'old fashioned' it is. He pointed out he hasn't done a sunken room since the 80's and reckons after doing ours here doesn't miss it either! lol We are going to have ivory quartz stack stone under the bench in the new house. I love your benchtop - what is it? Re: Show me your kitchen... 119Jul 27, 2009 10:07 pm hi Inspired our benchtop is granite. late 80's apricot . we had that too we also had a sunken lounge where as our closest friends who built at the same time had a sunken games room. yes and slate floors. ours were mostly terracotta colours but dark slate flooring was very popular then. Our previous house was built around '89. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll167/kexkez/oldhouse.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Show me your kitchen... 120Jul 27, 2009 10:56 pm kexkez hi Inspired our benchtop is granite. late 80's apricot . we had that too we also had a sunken lounge where as our closest friends who built at the same time had a sunken games room. yes and slate floors. ours were mostly terracotta colours but dark slate flooring was very popular then. I remember all the apricot! haha My partner is obsessed with sunken rooms - hence why we are going to have 2! Must admit all our friends are like - we would never have a sunken room, why would you want one of those! Guess its lucky everyone has different tastes hey! Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
