The wood is sublime teak (laminate), the upper cupboards are actually a gloss laminate called moleskin which imitates a more expensive 2Pac without the price tag. I hope that helps. For those with freestanding cookers, do you have any issues with the gap between the bench and the cooker? I believe ours has a very minimal gap but have heard that crumbs may be an issue if the gap isnt small enough?
