I've been thinking about using knobs instead of handles on our drawers as well and was just wondering how you like them practically? Do you grab on to both sides to open the drawers and if not, do you have any concerns about them going out of alignment? Do you think they work equally well regardless of the length of your drawers? I think ours are about 900mm wide. Also, does your kitchen man husband know how they compare in terms of cost to the standard handles? I really appreciate any answers you can give me, it's a fabulous Reno!! It's almost twice the size of the old kitchen and so much more practical. Agentnaget - in regards to the knobs, the widest drawers we have are 700mm and I have no problem opening with just one knob. Some of the bigger (taller) ones with lots of heavy things are a little more difficult, but still easily open with one knob. Obviously handles will be easier to open, but you shouldn't have any problem with the knobs. It probably also depends on what drawer runners you use - we have the latest blum soft close (apparently they just brought out a new design?). I would imagine that the standard (non soft close) drawer runners might have issues with pulling out of alignment on the wide drawers. In regards to the cost of handles vs knobs, there is a lot of variability (size, materials, finish, manufacturer etc.). The knobs we used were fairly inexpensive ($6 each, I think), but you can pay a lot more. If you go for long handles, they will obviously be more expensive. Generally speaking (I'm told), a standard handle (150mm) is about the same cost as a knob. Re: Show me your kitchen... 2560Dec 12, 2013 8:49 pm Excellent reno, I like that the island is multi use.
