Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 10, 2009 10:19 am Hi guys...... I am doing my "walkthrough" on thursday this week and would love to see some pics of the joins in CS benchtops.
We have Nova Aurora benches in the new place and i am not very happy with the way they have joined them it just looks wrong. The joins are VERY noticeable. I will post a photo tonight hopefully and you can tell me what you think. If any of you have pics of what your joins look like i would love to see them. I have been to the CS website and checked out the specs for proper installation...but not too sure mine would fall into this category . Thanks everyone... Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 2Feb 10, 2009 1:04 pm Hi Flissfloss,

How does the join in your benchtop look? 3Feb 10, 2009 6:53 pm Thanks so much bel! really appreciate it. I am just worried that it hasn't been done properly Anyone else? Ours has been done with something that looks like grout? really bright white and stands out like anything!! i will try to dig out that photo. Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 4Feb 10, 2009 11:01 pm thanks bel flissfloss I think from memory in my thread I wasn't happy with my join. Now I NEVER notice it. I am lucky that most of it is hidden by the sink; but the bit that I see doesn't bother me anymore, and I don't think it's such a bad job after all now!
Hope that helps? Does yours look as bad as mine? Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 5Feb 11, 2009 7:50 am Hi Donuts - just had a look at your kitchen pics - beautiful! What sort of door finish is on your cupboards? Lurve the benches, too. If fact, I think it's just what I'm after....... Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 6Feb 11, 2009 7:50 pm Thanks Hammerhead!
The cupboards are all gloss vinyl wrap in polar white. I am happy with them. There has been a lot of talk on here about how vinyl wrap peels when placed near heat; I guess time will tell with that one, but to try to prevent it I am keeping all the heat appliances away from the overhead cupboards (toaster, kettle, microwave are all in the pantry with the open shelves and coffee machine is on top of the dishwasher with no o/head cupboards). The only iffy thing I have is the cooktop, so I'll always have the rangehood on when using that and hope for the best I guess! Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 7Feb 15, 2009 12:59 am Hi FlissFloss,
We've got a long CS island with the kitchen sink, and the join is pretty good. There is obviously a line, but it's thin, and although it seems to be discolouring a bit over time (getting slightly darker) it is a very thin line. I think it just would have been less noticeable positioned at the sink instead of in the middle of the 4m long empty stretch... It annoys me, but probably no one else Green Architecture Re: HELP! How does the join in your benchtop look? 8Mar 23, 2009 8:20 am sorry to threadmine guys but does anyone have any pics of their joins? we've just had our top installed and would like to compare.. im quite happy with ours but SWMBO is not that pleased with them.. Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12912 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits. There's only one… 7 12711 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11568 |
