I have black granite benchtops and for 8 years now have been cleaning them with nothing more than a wet cloth followed by a "polish" with a hand towel.
They are still sparkling and shiny and look brand new after all these years.

For maintenance cleaning, this is what I'd use. http://www.aquamix.com.au/products/ston ... -shine.php I'd advise against using spray and wipe cleaners or Windex, as they are alkaline. Neutral cleaners are more appropriate. They clean perfectly well, and don't adversely effect the sealer or polish. Whilst Jeremy likes to use the harsher cleaners and keep reapplying new sealer, I'd seal on a far less frequent basis, and maintain it with a more gentle product like Stone Clean & Shine. The Granite will do well either way, but using less chemicals is the best way to go in my opinion. Ash. Granite is a pourose natural product that requires sealing from time to time. I have seen a few black granite tops with stains in them. The sealant will repell stains and also keep the stone looking its best!
