Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Cleaning Granite Benchtops 3Feb 10, 2009 8:27 am For the past 12 years I have cleaned my black granite with Windex Glass & Surface cleaner, it gets grease off and gives a great shine. I have even been told by granite suppliers this is a good product to use, they also told me not to use anything with citrus stuff in it. Re: Cleaning Granite Benchtops 4Feb 10, 2009 12:02 pm Selley's has a special cleaner for granite and stone benchtops, you can get it from Coles and Woolies. WOOP I KNOW THIS LOL 6Feb 13, 2009 11:19 am Hello ladies and gents...
want to know how to clean ur granite tops aye ? best option... Im a stone mason my self and i know what im talking about here.... yes you can use all the products above listed.,.. but really there is no point spending the money... the best option is .... keep ur benchtop's clean on a regular basis ...wipe it down with ur normal lint free clothes and your windex...and please people... you paid good money for your tops dont be lazy and take your time to clean them, dont leave your coffee mug circle stain on there for 3 hours ...and trust me ive seen people do it... but the real trick to keeping your granite tops in showroom condition...is every 2 months .... give ur bench a good wipe over with a granite sealer... made by tenax... !!! this will keep it glossy and shiny even after being wiped down on a regular basis...as youve seen on some benchtops they get a bit dull...this is the trick SEALER! I have a black galaxy kitchen my self... n i will post pictures if you like...its 5 years old...yet it looks like it was jus installed .. you asked whats wrong with spray n wipe... NOTHING... all i said was.... on a regular basis use your spray n wipe to clean your tops... but to keep your showroom like finish what u need to do is get your sealer on ur tops every now and then ... and you will keep that prestine look... there is nothing at all wrong with spray n wipe i use it my self ... i was jus giving you guys a helpful pointer so you dont end up havin dull tops after a while... reason being polish is made up of grit pads and wax's and after a while ... the wax within the polish dulls out..hence when u use the sealer, it brings it back up to a nice clear state hence the shiny shiny MCSHINY benchtops all good no worries... happy spraying SSP Stones Pty Ltd, Detailed Manufacturers of all stone materials.
