We'd love some feedback on ILVE freestanding 900 oven (range is called nostalgie I think). We think that they look great, especially since we don't want stainless steel.
A wok burner and ability to use grill or tepanyaki plate also appeal. Our preference for single oven not double.
We had initially heard great things about Ilve and thought we would be prepared to pay that price ($6-7k) for an oven that will be great for the next 20yrs but I've seen a blog today with some negative comments about them. Comments mentioned the clock timer; the oven occasionally shutting down if the knobs are touched in the wrong way (which sounds bizarre); door problems and blistering from the heat of the fishburner on the tepanyaki.
We are particularly comparing this ILVE to ASCOT (recommended by guy at Prestige Appliances in Melb); Falcon and Bertazzoni.
Any feedback appreciated.
