Hi, I was wondering about your thoughts on kleenmaid products, reliability etc. I was also wondering if anyone uses or has used the Kleenmaid dishwasher DW29X or the Kleenmaid oven FEG905X. What are your thoughts on these products.
Thanks

Thanks Re: Kleenmaid Products 2Jan 30, 2009 8:04 pm The only time I have had Kleenmaid was 12 years ago yes a long time ago, and I bought the cheapest dishwasher out of the 3 models they had, it was a nightmare, no wine glass rack and every time I pulled the top tray out it came out all the way...literally, out completely. They ended up taking it back after I complained and gave me a refund. I dare say they have improved their design, it was the cheapest, but still not really cheap. So check them out well. Re: Kleenmaid Products 3Jan 30, 2009 8:55 pm We have the Kleenmaid 'Silent System' dishwasher in our rental at the moment (can't see a model number but says Manufactured by Brandt under Kleenmaid). Its the best dishwasher I've ever had! Cleans everything everytime..
We also have the Kleenmaid Elegance oven and it seems fine (I'm not a conoisseur tho ) Re: Kleenmaid Products 5Jan 30, 2009 9:52 pm Rebadging isn't necessarily a bad thing. After a lot of research, I bought Kleenmaid appliances.
Their laundry appliances are Speed Queen (thousands of laundromats around the world can't be wrong ). The fridges are GE. They offer a 10 year warranty. That was one of the things that swung me.... Miele was 2 yrs and Neff was 4 yrs. The people I know that have Kleenmaid are very happy with them. As are the people I know with Miele. It's a personal preference thing. But the rebranding issue isn't one to base the decision on in my opinion. Not installed yet so can't give a report of how mine are. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Kleenmaid Products 6Jan 30, 2009 10:53 pm Perfect timing - I have just spent the afternoon at the Kleenmaid display showroom in Fortitude Valley and was wondering the same thing!!
The girl there told us the company is 100% Australian owned, and eventually got to the part where the products aren;t made in Aus but purchased from other companies around the world....So while the washing machines are speed queen from the US, apparently some of the ovens are from BSH - the company that makes Bosch.....and I switched off at that [point. I found a great website this evening to check through various kitchen appliance brands...kleenmaids products varied, Miele and Smeg seemed to be pretty ordinary, and various other products listed without review or only one review. http://www.productreview.com.au After reading these, I am thinking that Kleenmaid for cookware might not be such a good idea and I am veering towards Bosch as at least I know it will work every time! Have to also consider that the majority of people who will leave a review may be those that are disappointed by their product. Anyway I found this website useful, it might be able to shed some light for you too. Cheers Kath in Bulimba Re: Kleenmaid Products 8Jan 31, 2009 10:06 am mek From Choice test in Feb 08, a Kleenmaid dishwasher (a different model though) came 21st. Their latest test in Oct 08, Kleenmaid did not feature. I have a Kleenmaid vacuum cleaner. It is a rebadged SEBO which rates highly by Choice Magazine (up there with Dyson) and one of the few vacuums recommended by the Asthma and Allergy foundations. Thanks[/quote] Bought DW29W last Feb (2008). Broke down in August. Parts were not available in Australia, first part ordered arrived October and was incorrect as repairer ordered wrong part. The second part arrived in mid December 2008. Repairer broke another part during replacement of electronic board and merely had it couriered out for me to replace. On questioning kleenmaid, they thought taking August to December to replace a part was "industry standard" Part would cost about $15.00 to send from France in 7 days by normal post. I have written to "Choice" to examine if makers of dishwashers give notice to users for probablity of damage done to electronics by vermin such as the humble cockroach, as it can be an expensive problem to fix when not included in warranty. Re: Kleenmaid Products 11Feb 01, 2009 7:54 pm We purchased a Kleenmaid oven with a 5yr warranty. After 1yr of use it started to play up.
The service men came out twice and told us off for cooking foods with oil on them, like a roast! "No madame, no oil should be used on any foods inside the oven cavity, it spits and splutters everywhere" They were not keen on giving us the exact cause of fault but made it very clear that it was irreparable. The service dept were very rude and unobliging to either fix the oven or replace it, rather, offered us something like 25% off the initial purchase price. They even said they didn't care if we went to consumer affairs or plastered their unsatisfactory service all over the web as there was a clause within the warranty that gave them the right to withdraw the warranty. (Consumer Affairs totally disagreed by the way) Anyway, to cut a long story short we finally got a full credit back from them which means that I still have to purchase one of their products, (thinking saucepans), and the oven.....well a very nice chap came and removed the fan which had completely corroded and all is good. I'm afraid Kleenmaid is not for me. |
