Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 30, 2009 12:54 pm hey guys,
trying to decide what to have under our breakfast bar instead of just the rear of the base carcasses. The doors are gloss parchment white in a flat profile 2mm edging, benchtop is more than likely going to be a caesarstone Osprey or similar and the floors are going to be Select grade blackbutt with stainless kickplates and all stainless appliances. The splashbacks will be a lightish coffee/mocha ish colour similar to Dulux Puddle like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ in glass with a frosted look. The walls around the kitchen will also be similar in colour. The benchtop will overhang about 250mm and have a waterfall edge at one end, with a wall at the other.. heres a very quick rough diagram i drew up http://members.iinet.net.au/~armstrongh ... astbar.jpg Now i can't decide whether to use ; 1.) 2 pak panels the same colour/profile as the doors 2.) some kind of stacked stone cladding different in colour from the stone benchtop but one that matches the blackbutt and Puddle colours around the place. 3.) glass the same colour as the splashbacks except probably perspex to save $$$ 4.) gyprocked and painted the same colour as the adjoining walls 5.) some other suggestion i havent thought of yet ???? this is where you come in !! does anyone have any tips, opinions or alternatives???? cheers Re: Under b'fast bar cladding or panels?? show me what you have! 2Jan 30, 2009 1:19 pm We are doing ours the same colour as the splashback ....BUT... how about keep it the same colour as the rest of the cabinetry and get a vinyl decal of some sort? Re: Under b'fast bar cladding or panels?? show me what you have! 3Jan 30, 2009 2:31 pm hey mate
so is your splashback glass and your doing it in glass as well?? what do you mean by vinyl decal - like a print of something (stone/pattern etc?) to go on the back of the carcasses?? I'm going to look into it for our boring white island bench! Re: Under b'fast bar cladding or panels?? show me what you have! 5Jan 30, 2009 3:48 pm If you want something different you could always use wallpaper with glass splashback overlay. It looks awesome!! You can use the wallpaper as a feature wall in the house elsewhere to tie it all in!!
The Wallpaper below would look great with your kitchen colours!! Depends on your furnishings etc..... It's like a wall sticker that comes in lots of sizes but doesn't glue on just adheres like a static - like the little stickers you get on your sunnies. Thats a great idea! and much cheaper than wall paper with a glass splashback overlay. What material do you think it would best stick too for a breakfast bar panel? I was thinking of having the same laminex there as my cupboards, it should stick to that fine But I wonder how it would stand up against a toddler that likes picking at things Re: Under b'fast bar cladding or panels?? show me what you have! 11Feb 02, 2009 12:08 pm I would say it would have to be a very smooth surface like a wall (as that's where they are intended for use) and I'd assume that they would adhere quite well so that child wouldn't be able to pick at it though I've never had one so couldn't be sure. Re: Under b'fast bar cladding or panels?? show me what you have! 12Feb 03, 2009 8:43 am hmmm im liking the idea of a wallpaper somewhere in the area to pick up the splashbacks etc maybe on an opposing wall?
I just saw this kitchen (crappy pics) which apart from the splashbacks is a similar colour scheme - i think the stacked stone looks quite effective.. although our Black butt floors will be a reasonable amount lighter so i might take a sample in. http://www.completehome.com.au/kitchens ... id=3280252 Please suggest a solid quality swivel bar towel holder in bathrooms & bedrooms from… 0 3119 Hello - we were hoping to apply laminate click lock panels to our concrete ceiling, but not too sure how to go about attaching the panels to the concrete.
