Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 27, 2009 9:53 pm Hi everyone,
We are making our final decisions on ovens and have decided on a westinghouse 668 but now have to decide on side opening or the normal door that opens out. I can see positives with both but wondering if anyone has a side opening oven and are they happy with it? My main concern is with side openings you can get really close to the oven, has anyone had a problem with this? Thanks Re: Side opening wall ovens? Good or Bad 3Jan 28, 2009 6:40 am I don't have nor have never used one but my concern would be the banging on the elbow if you have a large tray/dish and you don't open the door wide enough. Also what if someone knocks it and it hits you face/shoulders.....could that happen? Re: Side opening wall ovens? Good or Bad 4Jan 28, 2009 8:13 am I don't have one but I like the side opening ones, probably because it is different and you can get closer and it would be easier to clean ....BUT when I get baking trays out of my oven atm I can put it on the door to rearrange the food, you wouldn't be able to do that with a side opener Re: Side opening wall ovens?
