Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Splashback after fixing canopy rangehood?? 2Jan 21, 2009 5:18 pm Tiling before the hood is installed will ensure that you get a nice fit of the hood against the tiles rather than the tiles coming up and finishing at the bottom of the canopy - this can sometimes interfere with lighting et cetera as well.
Note for people with built in range hoods - make sure this is taken into consideration by the cabinetmaker if you are going to do this, as it can change the depth required for the range hood. You might also want to consider extending the splashback and tiling up behind the canopy - this can be quite a good effect, and is best done before installing the canopy. The rangehood needs to come back out after installation so the guy who measures can mark down where the holes in the glass need to be for the rangehood.
