http://www.porterdavis.com.au/content/H ... oura30.pdf Would it be rediculous to have a cold water tap point installed in the pantry and have a conduit installed through the pantry to the fridge? I would also consider moving the fridge powerpoint into the pantry as well for ease of access and have both the hose and power run through the conduit. Are there any potential downsides to this? Should I just get the tap installed behind the fridge? Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 2Jan 22, 2009 7:37 pm It doesnt really matter. You can have your plumber leave a point either sticking out of the wall behind the fridge or in the pantry. Pantry will give you easier access should you have to shut down the water to the frig quickly. Just make sure that in either instance your plumber installs a pressure limiting valve after the stop valve, which should be a combination stop/ non return valve. (duo valve.) Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 3Jan 22, 2009 9:47 pm We placed our waterpoint inside the pantry and will pass the hose through the wall to the fridge. It will be easier to replace the water filter. The powerpoint is going to be just at the back. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 4Jan 22, 2009 9:52 pm We've done the same as Dembi.
Now we just need the fridge! The builder isn't going to laugh at me for wanting conduit between the pantry and fridge? lol Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 6Jan 25, 2009 9:28 pm Zerosignal, we are building the Illoura. We changed the plan to move the fridge space into the pantry, so there is a smooth wall in the kitchen and the pantry is a box shape. The fridge will still sit in the same corner and will face into the pantry. So we get the same amount of shelf space in the pantry. For me it just looked cleaner. We are having a cold water point put in there.
It's an option you might like to consider. We saw it in another PD display and liked the "clean lines " this gave the kitchen. Especially since my fridge is covered in notes, magnet, school stuff, sports stuff etc etc. Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 7Jan 25, 2009 10:05 pm Back Pocket Zerosignal, we are building the Illoura. It has its benefits and disadvantages, with a sliding door on the pantry I am more likely to leave it open all the time so perhaps access to the fridge is not really going to be an issue. Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 8Jan 25, 2009 10:19 pm Sorry I haven't seen the hayman layout. I think it was either a Churchill or Queenstown display that I saw. Yes, we will have a cavity slider that will stay open all the time.
I have the "my kids were born in a tent" variety of children so I will be the only one closing the door. Perhaps we could have saved money and not had a door at all **muses** Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 9Jan 25, 2009 10:42 pm Zerosignal, we are building the Illoura. BRILLIANT idea! LOVE IT!! I'd swap plenty of my upgrades if only I could get that messy, notice covered, magnet adourned fridge out of view and into the pantry...but it's too late for us now though. Great for you though BackPocket, it will look fantastic! Re: Water Tap in Pantry and Conduit through to fridge space? 10Jan 25, 2009 11:13 pm Back Pocket Sorry I haven't seen the hayman layout. The conduit needs to be able to have fibre run through it. NBN and Opticomm are just… 4 3037 Can a plumber put a tap on a rain water tank which is full? Tank is similar to one in photo. Cheers. 0 1959 Thanks for your advice. So far i have not noticed any issues with doors and windows. Builder advised they will organise drainers to inspect 2 weeks ago but no further… 7 26730 |
