Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 17, 2008 6:50 am Hi I'm new here.
I am building a new house and are looking at laminex coco nougat for my kitchen bench top. I like the coco latte tones. What base cuboards would go best with this Moleskin or New Antique White. (I am also considering these two colours to go with Limestone or Luna Stone in the bathrooms) I also like the look of the Squareform Benchtops but this colour doesnt come in that but my builder can do a similar finish but not as tight for no extra cost. Or thinking about paying the difference and finding something in square form, something like Earthly, Mineral Harmony or Mocha Feldspar. I love the look of the stone benchtops but dont know if I can justify paying so much extra for the real thing, as theres lots of other things I want. What do you guys reckon? Re: Laminex Coco Nougat for kitchen benchtop??? 2Dec 17, 2008 7:18 am Strange you should be mentioning these colours !
Our kitchen & laundry colours will be : Floor cupboards & pantry: moleskin Benchtop : mocha feldspar Wall cupboards : nocturne oak Bathrooms : Vanity & wall unit : new antique white Benchtop : mineral harmony Unfortunately, we're not at that stage yet, but I've uploaded the colours onto our blog, if you want to take a look : http://theradds.blogspot.com/search/lab ... et%20areas Remember, your monitor colours won't be the same as ours though. We ended up selecting Diamond Gloss Pure Mineralstone as our floors are wooden and a very rich earthy colour so the nougat might have looked murky. For practicality, I still really like the nougat. You wont see cut marks and scratches or spills. The diamond gloss is much harder to keep polished.
The best advice I can give is to ask lots of question about how they finish the edges and ends. I personally dislike corners that have been chopped off so that if you bump them you won't get hurt. Practical but ugly. Also how the bench overhangs on the ends. Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12913 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6626 2 4669 |
