Some people have to have everything centred and balanced in their kitchens, other people are less concerend about symmetry, especially when one had limited space. I think you can put your sink wherever you like as long as it fits into your work flow - that is, having good access to the sink in the manner that you would use it. Sinks on the end of benches and in corners can sometimes become restricted and difficult to use if not done carefully. So when placing your sink it bears to think about how you Stack your dishes before washing (if you do), Which side you bring your dishes to the sink from, and Where you stack your dishes after washing (if you do). There are some L shaped sinks especially designed for 90 degree corner bench. But if you have laminate or timber benchtops then a sink at the corner may create problems for the benchtop joints cos water may seep thru the joints eventually. I can imagine doing my back twisting to get into the space. The rinsing bowl looks fairly small and impractical. I would probably kepp a large portable tray that I fill with water to rinse and then put away instaed. Yes its small, but in that particular kitchen there was only a total of 1 metre of benchspace to the right of that sink. The house we build we had the sink moved to another spot and closed up one of the walk ways through as it had three one from diining room, one from meals and one from family so we closed up the one from the meals.A least me ended up with extra cupboards. Have had stone benches with undermount sink (kitchen) and drop-in (laundry) and top-mounted basin (bathrooms) for coming up 13 years and not one chip/scratch of any kind.… 2 9676 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive). Would require a mini… 13 39682 |
