Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 08, 2024 10:11 am Hi, I'm not really sure where to post this. We are in our new house now. I'm currently trying to find a solution I'm happy with regarding the way our floating floor was finished in the kitchen (ie, the expansion gaps); however the reason for this post is something else. Is it possible, looking at my photos, to trim the bottom of the filler panels so that they are level with the top of the kickboards? In other words, so that they don't reach the floor. I realise this would mean taking up those floorboards there. Some family members are kicking their toes in particular where the fillers at either side of the dishwasher. In addition, if it could be done, it would make those areas neater. However, I don't know if this is just opening another can of worms. I'd much appreciate some opinions. Please excuse the marks, I need to clean them. Oh and that's screed residue at the bottom of the kicks - that's a whole other story. . But just putting on a small skirting strip works. A simple quad strip or something would do the trick. Easily covers the gap. Also have you thought about caulking the gap between the flooring and the kickboards? will look so much neater and finished Cheers Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice.
