Please? If you look on the back bench.... on the right you can see underbench cupboards. The tower would be the same width. It will be the same colour as the wall of cupboards on the right. Could you photoshop it in on the back bench next to the cupboards? And in a seperate pic.... on the back bench on the left? Does this make sense? I hope so thanks d@n. Is there any way you could re-arrange them to include your tower in there somehow? I think it's such a good kitchen as is that you wouldn't want to add something. I did, and my appliance tower looks like it just dropped from nowhere and it doesn't belong there at all, even though it's very useful. Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 23Nov 01, 2008 12:47 pm Joles, your kitchen is exactly the same configuration as mine. My fridge will be on the right in the middle of the cupboards with pull out pantries on each side. If I was to put a tower in I would put in amongst those cupboards, close to the back corner. I love the look of towers. Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 25Nov 01, 2008 1:41 pm d@n sorry to ask a dumb question, but what's an appliance tower? ...is it a cupboard where the microwave sits? yes it is along with a steam oven and any other appliance Jo has bought. Paula Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 27Nov 01, 2008 3:01 pm D@n I think this is what Joles means to the left of the fridge...there is the oven and a microwave built into the cabinet.....on top of each other. But I think she wants to see it where you put the 2 cut outs. So you were close.
Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 28Nov 01, 2008 3:13 pm Is there anyway you would reconsider those big ugly brown cupboards.....maybe a different colour ?? Is it just fake wood laminex stuff or real wood ?
Not meaning to sound rude, but It would be the first thing to go, if I moved into your place. - each to there own tho, I just feel they take the focus off the rest of the kitchen - which is beautiful. Yeah... well you'll probably think the colour I'm going to use is worse.... I'll have big, ugly, black grain cupboards there.... I actually think the wall of dark cupboards make the kitchen. Terrence Malick Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 30Nov 02, 2008 12:49 pm Mek and SuH.... the appliance tower just does not fit in there..... It will have the fridge and WIP... there's no room. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 31Nov 02, 2008 1:46 pm Personally..i think that your kitchen looks stunning!
But I'm also of the opinion that the appliance tower would look by far and away the best if it was integrated into the dark timber cabinetry on the right (I LOVE the idea of dark grain cabinetry by the way ) I know you mentioned the fridge and walk in pantry being on that wall, but maybe there would be room between the two?? In our kitchen we'll also be having a 'wall' with double door integrated fridge, walk in pantry..and an oven/combi-oven setup integrated between the two... Anyway, just my two cents worth... Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 32Nov 02, 2008 6:20 pm I love the dark cupboards and don't think them ugly at all, but if you can't put the tower on that side I would go on left, towers can look like a really nice feature and if my kitchen was big enough I would not hesitate having it in that position. This has probably been said previously Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 36Nov 02, 2008 7:24 pm Thanks d@n.... I still like it on the right next to the wall of cupoboards. But no-one else seems to.....
It will stick out as far as the bench.... so I think it will be better as a sort of extension of the wall... The only way to fit it in the wall is to extend the wall... which in turn means extending two rooms... Hmmmm.... right is better or me.... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Yes it does look better over there, seriously. You wont have benchtop there will you? Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 38Nov 02, 2008 7:47 pm SuH Ok Jo, I just had another look at the two photos Dan put on, I sought of didn't realise the first one's set up with the tower on the right , actually I didn't see it at all cause I am old...ish, but I have to agree, not sucking up or just agreeing to be mrs agreeable, but I think you are right. Yes it does look better over there, seriously. You wont have benchtop there will you? No, no benchtop... from bottom up it will be two drawers, microwave, warming drawer, steam oven, overheads. The weird large cupboard space that is left between the tower and the rangehood cupboards (600mm) will become two horizontal cupboards. The appliance tower would actually be as deep as the nib wall... so if it was on the left it would cut down the spacious feel of the kitchen. I wish we could fit it in the wall of cupboards.... but even with putting in the smallest workable single pantry door....we're about 300mm short. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Jo's kitchen....all appliances will fit in the big wall!! 39Nov 02, 2008 8:06 pm I think it will look good there, really. Looking back at those photos it looks like it meant to be in that position, I am not an expert by any means bytheway, but it looks right to me.
