We have our microwave in a wall cabinet, so above head height and that works for me, but I'm on the taller side. I've also had microwaves above fridges and that has also worked for me, but might be a bit dangerous! I prefer microwaves at bench height. Have always had them on the bench so I think I am just used to it now. I think we will put ours on the bench in the pantry.
