Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 12, 2022 7:01 pm Hi all, First homebuilder here. I want my kitchen to appear larger. Thinking of this I would like some suggestions to the placement of the ovens in my kitchen. Appliance wall or under the stove? The kitchen is average in size - The kitchen bench is 3x1.4m and the wall is 4m wide. There is a butlers pantry (3.2x1.7m) with a pocket sliding door. Ground floor height is 3m. Would it be fair to assume that most new builds have appliance walls? It has the plus of having to not bend over while using it, but it takes up a bit of counter space and my kitchen is an average size. My husband wants it dark (black cabinetry and grey stone with wood highlights) and I am hesitant as it can make the kitchen look smaller. I want white, so we need to come to some middle. I think what he wants is drama and some edge so if that is fulfilled then it could be a win. I would like sage green but (according to hubby) green is out of the picture apparantly. Other colour suggestions welcome. Also option to have the wall appliance next to the fridge? Does this look too lopsided? Are there any advantages to this layout? Any suggestions welcome! Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well.
