Hello everybody! This is my first post *waves*
I am interested in the opinions regarding granite vaneer.
I will soon be moving into a very nice home, with a lovely kitchen, the kitchen benchtop and bathroom vanity tops are currently laminate.
Also there is a fireplace that is basically a 'future option' kind of thing, with a plaster mantle piece.
I am considering a granite veneer for each of these surfaces. I am also considering solid surfaces such as Quantum Quartz as well (if it's available in S-W WA, that is!).
But it seems so extreme to actually rip the top off all these furniture pieces, when it is really only the surface I am wanting to change. The cupboards and vanities are in good condition, they're really nice. I like the current thickness and shapes of the benchtops. They currently all have straight edge profiles.
Does anyone have any opinions about the quality of a granite veneer product? Is it better to 'go the whole hog' and replace the whole bench surface? Any opinions on how long a veneer will last? It's glued down 100 per cent surface to surface.
