Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 23, 2008 2:44 pm I went today to have a look at appliances. Mainly steam ovens. But I found a cooktop that I love.
It's an Ilve 90cm with a Teppanyaki plate. It's $1699.... I'm thinking this is a good price (there's one left). Is it a good price? I was looking at Miele or Neff. But I've also fallen in love with the Ilve side by side 60cm and 30cm ovens. I know Ilve is a high quality brand... but not sure on prices.... help me! I might go and buy it tonight if it's a good buy! I'm sure someone has one of these... is it Clarity? Someone.... Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I know it's a good brand, and this particular friend never does things by halves!!! I went back... but now I've freaked myself out! I've found another big combo oven thing... for 8k. Someone stop me... the only thing I like more than cupboards is appliances... I'll sit on it overnight I think... Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 7Oct 23, 2008 6:13 pm I would think that $1700 is a bl**dy good price. I was looking at appliances the other day at HN. A teppanyaki plate for our freestanding cooker is $500 on it's own and it looks exactly like the plate in the link Ilve make great ovens/cookers etc.
Is this a brand Boutique supply or can your source your own? Happy at Home Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 8Oct 23, 2008 6:26 pm House-To-Be I would think that $1700 is a bl**dy good price. Toni, Boutique supply Technika.... not going to happen, I really don't like them for some reason. M had Baumatic and I was pretty OK with that. I really don't want Technika.... I just went today to have a sticky and work out a budget... not to buy anything. But now I've found the Falcon big cooker things that are made by AGA..... I think I love it. I'm going to sit down tonight and figure out if I want two ovens and a steam oven... or one oven and a steam/normal oven combo... or one oven and a steam oven and a microwave/oven combo. Seperate cooktop? All in one? Are you seeing my problem? I know four things for sure for the kitchen. I want a F&P dishdrawer. I want a steam oven in some capacity. I want an integrated microwave. I want two ovens. And I really like Ilve... and Neff! I need a beer...... and a bigger budget! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 9Oct 23, 2008 8:00 pm Hey Jo, we had a 90cm s/s Ilve freestanding oven/cooktop with teppanyaki plate in our last place (but inbult into the cabinetry and it cost us just over $8K about 8 years ago. We bought it from Clive Peters back then.
The teppanyak plate is nice but is very heavy and damages the sink when you try to clean it... we ended up hardly using it. But it looked great!!! With us though, i think we got a bit of a lemon, had service guys come out multiple times but couldn't resolve a burner that always had trouble lighting! We gave up in the end.... But in general we loved the oven. So i say if it makes you happy, do it!!! You wont get this opportunity too often to indulge in such things, and you dont want to look back and say "I wish i had........" Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 11Oct 23, 2008 8:23 pm joles My thread I can go OT .... LOL, its YOUR thread and YOUR house Jo, you should do what makes you happy!!!! joles Thanks Nic how are you? Good to see you back! Thanks for asking Jo, I'm getting better..... LOL....I've been around, just reading mainly..... Hey let us know which model you're looking at? Have you got a web link or a model no? Make sure you see one working and maybe even do a cooking demo perhaps? (even if its not from the store you're ultimately buying from ) So that you know all you can about it before you buy! (Just my 2 cents worth.... ) Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 12Oct 23, 2008 8:28 pm The link Mike posted earlier in the thread is the one.
I'd hate to miss out on a bargain, but I really should think this through... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. OK, saw the cooktop....very very nice... No i meant this one you were referring to earlier, the Falcon one? At the end of the day what you choose will determine the look of the kitchen...What would suit your chosen look? Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 14Oct 23, 2008 8:51 pm The falcon one is here...
http://www.falconappliances.co.uk/315.htm It's all in one... so no Ilve cooktop. It has two ovens and a seperate grill.. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 15Oct 23, 2008 8:55 pm mmmmmmmmmmmmm nice, would really be a pleasure to cook on i'd suspect!!!
It will give an industrial look somewhat to the kitchen too... Hmmm i see your delimna..... Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 16Oct 23, 2008 8:58 pm Then I'd still have to buy a steam oven... and a microwave.
I'm thinking of going to Kleenmaid tomorrow just to complicate things further. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I like the Ilve cooktop, a (brand to be decided) oven and a Neff Steam/combi oven.... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Ilve cooktop... is this a good price? 20Oct 23, 2008 9:10 pm Petal the falcons are made by AGA so it looks good....

Terrence Malick My daughter and son in law are about to start building, they are having a 600mm induction cook top and 900mm oven. It's personal preferance 5 10868 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7119 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35326 |
